Don't keep us in suspense. Tell us what was said. LOL.

Thing is, I'd give a lot to know how many buyers (as opposed to buyers-sellers) are coming in. We see the posts from disgruntled sellers (like me).

On the one hand, because of the smaller number of listings, I've found and bought some things here I would never have found in the jungle over there because I wouldn't have bothered to look for them.

On the other hand, some of the things over there that stick in sellers' craws (such as the feedback system) are all part of their push to make buyers completely comfortable in the knowledge that, with few exceptions, they will be held responsible for nothing.

So I would be interested to hear what those buyers are saying about eBid. Tell, tell please ('cause I'm not about to go look--I always come away from their forums with a sour stomach).

Not only a sour stomach but their forum is HUGE. LOL

I doubt it's still there at any rate.

Lord knows it gives new meaning to ad nauseum. LOL.
BUT it was probably there long enough for some people to see it and take a peek in here. I found eBid one day when I was feeling particularly strong and checked the forums, and saw a post from Tony.

Hello everyone! I am also from the dark side,as I have seen it mentioned, but still a member over there. I did spend quite a bit of time this morning on there forum, checking on the chatter about the upcoming change to there buyer protection policy, not at all good news for the sellers with out a doubt,in any event, first time I posted in the forum, have been a member for sometime, never jumped in with both feet, but I am now moving in that direction. I can only assume it won't be long til this site really picks up,as the sellers leave, the buyers will have to follow eventualy

The trouble is that the buyers are not the least affected by any feebay changes. Or any ebid growth, changes, policies either. In fact they are a wee bit spoiled now on feebay, with many thinking the sun rises and sets on their greatness. This made the selling experience on feebay upsetting over last few years for many of us..

So the buyers will have no incentive to find another place to buy until the time comes that feebay changes over completely to a big box new merchandise venue and buyers have no place to buy their collectables. This, says the industry, will happen soon.

That is why asking all your buyers to come over is a good idea. NOW. Don't wait until they see feebay change, and decide to drop out altogether not realizing that there is a good alternative. Tt costs buyers nothing to join and they can easily belong to fifty sites if they want to window shop.

Ebid is very concerned about NOT attracting poor buyers and so inviting those who have passed a good seller's test is vital to the growth of ebid. Don't forget when feebay advertised we attracted the very worst kind of sellers, and it was not worth all the trouble we suffered with them. Ebid does not want that happening here, i.e. demanding buyers issuing unwarranted negatives, etc, so asking the select few over is a better idea. You know those people already, they pay, they are pleasant, they know how to buy on line, so are good buyers. The kind we want here.

sorry all for keeping everyone in suspence.
as the thread has now been pulled the gist of it was that now that the force or should i say farce of the free postage rule on media item over on the drak side has got up peoples nose's people were asking if they had brought any thing from here.
there was the the feebay die hards (it is still hard to belive that these guys are not paid to coment by feebay) saying that it was to slow here to bother with but to be honest there were far more people saying it's great and yes they had brought something from here and had a better time doing it then on the darkside.
I think soon (when this new force postage thingus come in to effect) that ebid will be one of the only places that people will be able to find cheep price collectables as feebay themselfs are advising people like myself who sell comic book to add the postage cost to the starting price which would make a £1.00 comic way over priced and force people to look elsewhere.

Does it really make that much difference.
When I buy from anywhere I bid according to what I am willing to spend and that includes postage.
