What or who is a Yahoo! Slurp Spider ? Are they the things that check out sites for search rankings?

I asked this very question a few weeks ago and it sounds like you've got it. Mind you I'm a bit thick about these things and someone is bound to appear and explain it all properly.

rofl I had a yahoo spider get stuck in my shop pmsl!!!! It filled it's basket with everything in the shop - had a huge bill - was there for days before it eventually managed to get out

what amazes me is how both they and yahoo spiders are able to partake in PMs cus ive seen it a number of times.
Surely, they are meant to be robot type things ... weird!

Now that made me laugh.
