    Unhappy Problems with photos

Hi , Is the size of a photo designated by pixel size or by byte size? The photos on my ads look awfull although I have put them through jpegsizer.

Other peoples photos look spot on, it's not the camera as my normal photos come out very well. Any suggestions please?

On "the dark side" you don't have to "down-size" your images so there is no problm. Hopefully this is one of the things that will be fixed in the re-launch. Has anyone got any idea when the new version starts up?

    Thanks for your help.

I see what you mean they are not very clear and they are quite tiny.

Try uploading your photos to photobucket. That what I use and have had no problems with it and it's free. Here's the link for you.

I hope it works better for you.

    Default Picture size

Hi Lofty,(or should that be High Lofty!)
Which version of windows are you running? I have a program on my computer called microsoft greetings 2001,bought on 2 discs some years ago.
I think it is part of the installed software on xp under the heading of Picture it or something similar. If I'm right & it is there you have the option to save pictures as "web ready".
I do all of mine using this method.Having said that I dare say there are other more updated products available which you might find suits your needs better.Hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice Bluebedouin, I have solved the problem by using photobucket; but will have a nose around in my XP home edition when I have the time.

Hi, For pictures to go into your listings you will need to upload directly from your PC through your browser or if you have them hosted on the web you will need to upload from there. I don't use it but photobucket seems to be very popular - see post #2.
You can upload your pics onto 'My Gallery' in eBid. When you are listing an item the click link for getting your pics into your listing are near the the top - below where you choose the categories and just above where you put your item description in.

Photos are usually measured in pixcels - if you resize you photos to about 500 x 375 pixcels they will download very quickly and look ok in gallery and on your listings. Anything above about 800 pixcels will start to take longer to download especially if you are on dial-up.

Hi Lofty100e, two things! Firstly, I never saw your pictures before you improved them, but I have just seen your listings and the photos look clear, though they are a bit small. Secondly, are you by anychance my mate Lofty Holloway from north London?
