Thread: Can someone help re a postal order, thanks

  1. #1

Default Can someone help re a postal order, thanks

I sent a few uncrossed postal orders to a seller (this is the 1st time Ive used them as they dont accept paypal and I needed it asap), Ive kept the ends of the postal orders (the bit you keep for yourself)

I sent them over a week ago but the seller says they havent arrived yet. Is there any way I can check if the seller has received them or if she is conning me?

Is it possible to stop a uncrossed postal order, like you can stop a cheque?

    thanks

In a word, no. Postal Orders should be treated as cash - and as such cannot be tracked unless you send them via recorded delivery. I would recommend in future sending CROSSED postal orders as then they can only be cashed into the bank account of the person who you're paying.

No I mean is there anyway a bank or post office can check if the postal order has been cashed?

I don't know. Best thing to do is to go and ask at a post office, although they may not know either! I doubt you can check, as it would take too much effort on their part.

If you have the stubs you can put in a claim with Royal Mail - but check at your PO if this is correct...
