Well NZ have overcome Sth.Africa in a nailbiter to the end.
A second last ball 6 secured the game for NZ - smacked into the crowd - what a beawdy!
It could have gone either way but NZ were the better team on the day/night.
Such was the disappointment of some of the Sth.Africans, that there were tears at the end.
NZ will now play in the final at the MCG, against the winner of Thursdays match between Australia v India at the SCG.

Getting strapped in for today's Oz vs India 2nd semi-final at the SCG.

Your prediction was correct Tony - it's a co-hosts final.
Australia defeated India by 95 runs overnight in a surprise turnaround of India's recent form, so it will be Oz vs Kiwi's on Sunday at the MCG.
That could go either way, & you can bet that the crowd will be 50% NZers - the planes are filling now!

Austalia Win 5th World Cup

Australia has won their 5th world cup by 7 wickets, overwhelming the Kiwi's with their bowling attack & fielding like their lives depended on it.
Congratulations go to NZ for reaching their 1st world cup final, but the Aussies were just too good on this occasion.

The power of the Oz team shows in the Kiwi scorecard, with 5 ducks (1 a last man not out zero) 4 batsman in the low teens & only 2 who put up any resistance Elliot & Taylor with 83 & 40 respectively.

Another all time international cricket record was the MCG crowd of 93,012 recorded patrons.

Oz captain Michael Clarke retires with a dream ODI world cup win & will now concentrate of test matches into the future.
Also fitting, was the prospective "new" ODI captain Steve Smith, hit the winning runs in the match with a boundary.
Now everyone has 4 years to train up for the next world cup in England, which Oz will do their best to defend no doubt!
