    I totally agree with MP; This is not our war. The people fighting on both sides are probably capable of terrible acts against anyone perceived of being on "the other side."
    The actions being carried out in this country by both antagonists are their own affair. It is not our responsibility, or our obligation to get involved.
    Lets stop our schoolchildren from being stabbed, abducted and abused first eh?

    That was not said.

    this is what was said, or at least part of it.

    To my way of thinking;
    How can we mediate if we participate in this war?

    Anyway it's far too dangerous!
    God help us if the domino's start falling.

    Thanks MP,
    Patriot; I am not trying to justify my personal belief that we should not stick our nose where it is not wanted by saying that our school children are more important than children from other countries (that discussion would need another thread maybe?).
    What I am saying is that the conflict in Syria, is a civil war in another country. A country with differing views, politics, religion, social backgrounds and laws.
    If you take a look at any historical scenario where a foreign power has involved itself in this sort of conflict (From the first Afghan war through to any conflict you choose to mention) it generally ends badly, both for the people of the country and for the powers that get themselves involved.
    In this sort of scenario, might is simply not right..

    Well, speaking from the "other side of the pond" most Americans are waiting with baited breath to hear what our great (supposed) leader Obama is going to do. If he takes this to the point of air strikes and/or boots on the ground, it will be a sad day for this country. Our military is spread way too thin now as it is...what? Are we supposed to pull troops out of the air?

    while the american war machine and the british war machine have and will get involved in other soverien state affairs which in this case i belive its wrong for them to do so, this also reflects on the common people of uk usa and hinders are abilty to visit,trade, and live in these places to such a extent that we the people are children are often hated in these areas for generations just because war mongers what to score points these countrys are no threat to the uk or the usa this is a internal war but it could become a threat to us if we pick a side and get envolved as in terrorists the media is playing up the deaths there sad as it is, this is purley propoganda to boil the blood with out the full facts being known or reported
