Never had television in my younger days

On the old steam radio I used to listen to Archie Andrews.

Peter Bough, a ventriloquist on the radio. Never saw his mouth move. He later appeared on TV and everyone realised what a terrible ventriloquist Peter Bough really was

When I wuz a lad gets mixed up wi when I wuz a kid...but I loved the Tomorrow People...the theme music and that larva lamp sort of effect.....always wanted a Jaunting belt...Dr Who, those shop dummies with the hands that were guns.......(first time around) and throwing a right screaming fit of terror after getting into one of those Darlek things at Rhyl amusments (it wuz the Black cat or sum fin like dat)a second after the coin dropped the thing jerked into life and the voice started...Exterminate, Exterminate......I was freakin, cryin, screaming when I fell out of the thing.....That and being bit by a dog are a couple of moments from eary childhood that have stayed wi me....

Didn't listen to the Archers or Mrs Dales Diary but had to be quiet whilst my mum listened to them.

The Navy Lark on during Sunday dinnertime was another of my favourites. Sometimes these old radio programmes are put on BBC Four Extra
