LOL, this is why benefits should be all means=tested. Personally If I won an amount like that, I wouldnt dream of claiming benefits, even non-means-tested ones. Benefits should be for people who need them, not for the rich. (hehe at the moment because of part time working because of doing my Masters degree, I would have a higher income if I chucked it all in and went on the dole, but I can get by, living at Mums, and I want to do my Masters degree, and I have a job I like which related to what I am studying, which is useful both ways round and its only a low income because I can only work part time at the moment, if it were full time I would be laughing, as the hourly rate is good, so ... at the moment the only thing I claim is the health HC2 help for health costs certificate)
It's a topsy turvy world and loads of things no longer make sense.
the problem with the system is that someone with genuine disabilities cannot access some services (ie the blue badge parking card) UNLESS you are claimimg DLA. Also help with other things is affected.

Please have a look. I combine postage wherever possible.
I'd forgotten about the DLA being a gateway to other things.
Mind you...if I only claimed DLA so I could park near to the entrance to a supermarket I would most likely get a taxi to drop me off and scrap the DLA.
I can't drive for medical reasons so I don't live in the world of people who have worries about where to park.
It's easy to bash someone in such a position.
I expect they will sort things out in the fulness of time and decline any benifits.
Bit of a witch hunt I think.
