Default removal of auction unfair threat

Hi guys just had an email about an auction of mine being removed after all this time because it was in the wrong auction catogorie. didn't bother them since i started.

Anyways my problem and gripe is the way that i had the email and the way it was removed. fair enough let me know it's in the wrong catorgorie which was an accident but to threaten me and remove the auction completey without me having to relist and sort is a bit ott

    the threat

    Relevant auction(s) have been removed.

Your account has not been placed on Hold but repeating the infringement will result in your account being reviewed.

now some people might not see that but as an honest seller who tries their best i found this down right distressing i didn't get a warning it was just removed and i was told this. i'd understand if i were selling a fake or some banned item but just to be in the wrong catogorie a polite letter to say you have put this in the wrong catogorie please fix it would have done..

now the listing has been removed completely and instead of me being able to fix it i now have to tirelesy put it back in from scratch.

I thought this was completely unfair and has just about made me think twice about continuing with ebid. and i was just getting google check out sorted i'm wondering if it's worth the bother for if i make a mistake instead of informing me of it they are just going to completely cancel and auction. this is a bit harsh.

Maybe you should have put this in website suggestions.
I'm sure support would consider it.
After all they could convey the same message in a far less intimidating manner.

eBid communications can tend to be a bit terse (to put it mildly). Something they need to work on (IMHO) as many people complain about it. Personally, not a big enough issue that I would get upset on receiving such - maybe just a little name calling under my breath.

That said, it is stated that listings that do not conform to eBid's posting rules are liable to deletion (not closing or editing). Sellers, effectively, agree to that each time they place a listing.

There may be an issue with categories (though I have not experienced it) that when site categories are updated and an item comes up for auto-repost, it can suddenly be in the 'wrong' category.

Always worth keeping a backup of all your listings (do a regular export) to avoid the hassle of having to list from scratch (as in the recent infamous 'fix' eBid carried out on all listings).

Same thing happened to me about an hour ago. 2 listings were removed and I got the same comments. It was a completely innocent mistake putting DVDs in the Blu Ray category and when I went to amend them I found that they were deleted. The wording definitely needs to be addressed and the listings should go to a temporary quarantine area so they can be changed. I understand the sites need for rules and actions but everyone makes mistakes now and then.

I agree, Mel. The wording on eBid emails needs revamping.

Am in agreeance with the op on this one - total deletion is bad.

KImbo suggested in another thread recently that perhaps they could be put in a ''holding'' section - they could be invisible until corrected by the seller. Could save a lot of time and work for an innocent mistake.

Agree with the abve, definitely e mail support about this, poor/threatening wording could put a lot of members or would be members off.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

to be honest i don't understand what the big deal is just inform the seller that their item is in the wrong catogorie and give them so many days to fix it and if they don't then fine end it so it ends up in their unsold items page.
