Autism is not a BUG.! If it was they would have worked out what to fight it with by now. Autism is an alteration of the brain during pregnancy?? at least that's the latest research. Truth is NO ONE knows what is causing it to increase in modern times (the excuse is the detection rate is higher)

I have no doubt that the MMR is safe. My perfectly healthy daughter is proof enough for me. But if you want REAL proof then go here

Not sure that this is strictly true, most experts agree that there are many reasons for Autism being triggered.

As others have already said Autism is not a bug, if it was then my son has been suffering with a cureable disease for the last 24 years !!!

Sadly if yiou are born autistic then you will be autistic for the rest of your life. The only up side is that we have a great son who faces his problems head on after years of help from us his parents and eventually getting the right kind of help after years of banging on doors, shouting at people when they wouldn.t listen and Ben himself learning coping strategies.

Anyone believing that there is a cure is sadly misguided, no amount of drugs will cure only help manage the condition, or in some cases worsen the problem. We never went down that route even when he was at his worst, kicking and screaming all day. And out of interest he never had the MMR jab but did have the seperate vaccines. Our daughter who is 22 had onlt the Rubella jab and she is a perfectly ordinairney young woman.

After so many years autism has become a way of life for us as a family, so much so that we very rarely disscuss it any more.

My original comment was the fact that the authorities will not say that there is a definate link with MMR and autism, because it may only be true in a few cases, certainly not all. As someone as already said, most vaccines have a level of danger and so parents must make up their own minds. Which ever way, the state should not force something onto the parents and I believe that the option of single dose jabs should be available to all, not at the whim of a particular GP or practice.

Anyway that's my little rant over. Don't meen to offend or upset anyone, just based on own experiences.

Part of the problem is desperate people (And I know how desperate they can get!!!) are jumping on the band wagon hoping that it is true so that they can sue the government. You are born with Autism. what happens is that the Jab happens roughly at the same time as most kids get diagnosed therefore people blame the jab. A Mother knows that something is wrong before diagnosed!

I totally agree with the statement that I highlighted. Often Autism is only noticed around the age that other children have that leap in language skills around the time when they are most likely to receive the jab.

Annie also has a severe learning disability that is unrelated to the Autism but I was still able to spot the Autism before the 'so called' experts did.

We have just worked round the Autism and fought for the kind of care that allows Annie to live as stress free as she is able to. It's good to watch her progress over time and she rarely has the Autism related tantrums that she had when she was younger...all down to having the right support.

Many scientists have stated that there is a direct link between MMR and autism. Do the research. Don't just regurgitate the official line. One doctor was made a scapegoat to prevent other medical professionals from speaking out. There are many cases of autism occurring after the development of language and motor skills...and after a previously healthy child has had the MMR jab. To say that only one doctor has made the link is asinine in the extreme. To say that he was proven wrong is simply untrue.
