Default Music~ better today or not

I'm listening to some 60's music I listened to when I was a teenager.

And it's up beat, makes you feel good music

For me the 60's was the best decade of music~ anyone care to discuss?

I might have to check back later, as I'm lots to post out today, but I will be back.

60s, but also late 50s and early 70s. Then I grew up

    I refuse to grow up.
It would mean I would have to start behaving.

There was a lot of trash about in the late 50s to 70s just as there is today - think I just kept and remember the good ones

What I like is the music is easy to sing along to and happy.

Some of my daughter's stuff has you looking for a rope and chair.

I certainly think that most of the golden oldies of my teen years are the greatest BUT now and again, even at my old age, one of the latest tunes makes me sit up and take notice.

Alexandra Burke singing "Bad Boys" was a recent one that had me humming to it.

I like a lot of the new stuff~ don't get me wrong.

But for lifting the spirits, there's nothing like the 60's.

Or at least I think so.

LOVE the 60's music - especially 66/67. The music was so good, my mates and I couldn't agree on which record should be Number 1! The 70's and 80's stuff was - mostly - good too. I listen to Clyde 2 simply because they play all the old stuff. I bop about the kitchen like an eejit when I'm preparing/making the dinner and washing the dishes. It's great! Some of todays stuff isn't bad - but not much. The lyrics are one-liners, which are repeated endlessly. How can that be music?

Definately a "not"! Very little of today's music merits more than the standard of jingle, which explains why so many can be found as soundtracks for TV adverts. The 1960s and early to mid-70s stand out for me as the period of the best music. It also seems to me that the best modern music is produced by people active in the 60s and 70s. (John Fogerty, Tom Petty, Eagles, Dylan).
