i have made my fees back and more..all my feedback is from here..buying and selling..would have more feedback if everyone left fb..
I recouped my Seller+Lifetime fee after just a couple of sales. I don't really have regular sales but like some other members, it's not imperative I have constant sales because I don't rely on them to pay my bills.

GENERAL STORE
I wouldn't change back even if I could. Love it here. Much easier and definitely much friendlier! All my feedback is from here only. Only a hobby seller, so I don't have to pay the mortgage out of this, but I won't be leaving anytime soon. I say go for it!
Good choice for long term selling. No listing/relisting feeds, 5 free stores, etc. A terrific buy for selling larger quanties, even if you chose gallery photos and pay 2-3% final fees. Lots of value for that lifetime fee.
But ebid is not a mini feebay. We have different buyer sources (4 including google), and in order to sell to these new people you must be willing to learn new skills. Means changing your listing, terms, conditions, prices, offering shipping discounts, etc. Only you can decide if you want to make all those changes to sell here.
Many of us have daily sales. The number increases as we stock more items (this is what you see when you see all our stock & wonder where the buyers are). I have at least 5 sales a day, and have 550 items listed. Some have thousands listed; they have dozens of sale a day. Lots of work, again, not just running your small amount of feebay listings, selling and listing a few more. Our buyers love the choices and buy lots of multiples.
To fail here, just bring all your feebay baggage. Setup and wait. After a while ask for help and ignore what we say. Hint: we always see same things; no descriptions, threats about non payment, no keywords in titles, no refunds, no returns, and some refuse to change anything. If it worked on feebay it has to work here. Frustrating and confusing if you don't understand we attract a different group of buyers here. Cater to them and you will sell, forums will help you to do that. Again, how hard are you willing to work and learn new selling/marketing techniques to be successful here?
Sales are increasing monthly, site is growing at fast clip. Icing on the cupcake is that it is fun to sell here and fair to everyone. No special listing priviledges for big buyers, no feedback unfairness, and no having to accept negs made by unreasonable buyers. Management listens to us which makes it enjoyable to sell here.

It is very much dependant on where you are I think. UK and US sellers go quite well. But the Australian and New Zealand members (like me) struggle to get a sale. Maybe just get 12 months or something and see how you go. Then upgrade if you like it enough.
Well worth the £50 I paid back in 2008
Couldnt be bothered typing anything so just Cut & pasted Raindropsies reply. Isnt 1st time I have plagiarised and wont be the Last.

Its Horses for courses!
The other place costs £50 a month to run a medium shop, the cheapest is £15 per month and the dearest £350 per month.
You pay .20p to list every item per 10 days for Auctions and between .01p and .20p per month to list in a shop, per month, depending upon what level of shop you have.
You pay almost 10% commission on every sale. You are at the mercy of buyers that can leave negative feedback, sometimes for no valid reason.
Here on eBid you pay £50 for up to 5 stores for a lifetime and can list your items for FREE! Customer service is second to none. You get a reply from eBid within hours and from very helpful people.
Now, it doesn't take long to figure out which site is value for money, however the traffic is a little slower here on eBid but the costs per sale are almost nil. You may need to price your items more competitively here but why not? the on going costs are almost nil.
The other place is OK for businesses, but the 'one man band' will find life here so much more friendly, if a little slower.
Now, if you plan to list just a few items a month then I would say it wouldn't be worth the joining fee when reckoning monetary values but where else can you join a club for such a modest fee?

Very interesting discussion here! And a lot of great info
I havent upgraded to seller yet but have been looking over everything for awhile. Judging from everything I have read and my experiences here I believe it is well worth the cost and plan to upgrade soon.
If you havent already done so I highly recommend t hat you read through this stuff:
