Thread: Goodbye Mum

  1. #1

    Unhappy Goodbye Mum

My mum passed away yesterday at 14.15 has I held her hand

for over a year she was ill and started going down hill quickly from christmas.

She was in hospital for over a month and they still could not find out what was wrong with, in the last hour of her life they had suspicions of what caused it

A post mortem is to be held

I know this community will offer support and best wishes as they do to everyone and gladly received it will be.

I would be grateful for any pratical advice anyone can give me as things seem so unreal and confusing at the moment and I need to be strong for my brother and sister who are both in a very bad way.

Best wishes to you all and give someone special a hug today

To all of you who have responded, I hope you all realise how special you all are and how you make the kitchen table such a warm and wonderful place to be part of.

    THANK YOU ALL

    Practical advice first
The coroner will guide you on what needs to be done. You can engage an undertaker now and they will take control when your Mum is released.

Now a great big hug (((((santa))). Can't offer much more than a hug but we are all thinking of you.

So sorry to hear your sad news. What a terrible time for you all. My very best wishes.

As for practical advice - If you have never been involved in these kind of arrangements before it can be very daunting. I found the book "What to do when someone dies" - produced by "Which?" - consumers association very useful. It has recently been updated to take account of changes in legislation so make sure you get the one by Anne Wadey (not an older edition by Paul Harrris)

Thinking of you all through these sad days xx choose a good undertaker as they can deal with all the aspects of the funeral xx
