I think there's a basic problem with suggesting major changes to how the YDC works right now, and coming up with ideas for maybe doing things this way or that way... Babs has said that one of the major reasons she's shedding the task is that she doesn't have time to devote to it right now. So I doubt she's got time to handle complex discussions and changes either!
I suggest that we let Babs move the job on in the way she's chosen (and has the time and energy for) and then anybody who's got ideas about how it could be improved takes those up with the new person who *has* got the time etc. They can tackle all the ideas and issues with fresh vigour.
