Just goes to show that if you are willing to put in the effort then eBid is a viable selling platform. If you are not then all you can do is moan about your lack of success.

    Kudos Kim.

I've put stuff on here not pimped it in here or elsewhere, not sent flyers out not done nowt, obviously it never sold

I've put stuff on the on E*** not pimped it in there or elsewhere, not sent flyers out not done nowt, but sell 99% of stuff thats put on

    And why

cos it has advertised it own site and is now a household name. people are still coming in here saying that when they mention ebid the reply is normally "ebid who"

The fact that eBay was the innovator of online auctions for the masses gives it massive dominance. It is a household name not down to its own advertising efforts but that of the media. eBay gets masses of advertising at no cost to itself. Anyone who wants to make any inroads into their market share would have to spend inordinate amounts of money to achieve even small success.

Had eBid made it onto the UK scene before eBay moved operations over the Atlantic it would maybe have been a very different story.

But maybe not as money is everything. eBay bleeds their 'customers' dry and so has money to throw around. eBid doesn't and so has to be a bit more Scottish with their purse.
