Default How long it took you to make the first sale

Just curious, how long it took you to make your first sale here? This site doesn't have much in terms of traffic tracking and so forth. It would be real nice if they've integrated Google Analytics.

Made my first sale within 24 hours of posting my first listing - and the site was a lot less busy back then. Beginners luck maybe but I was clearly selling something that someone wanted at the time.

You cannot glean anything from other's experiences. Someone could be selling the exact same thing as you at the same price and one seller could still fare better or worse than the other. A lot is down to how you market yourself, but there is still always an element of luck involved.

    About 200 items

Some say sales can only happen if you wear a white race suit and helmet with a blacked out visor.
some say you need 500+ items.
Some say the world is going to end.

What works for some wont for others.
Keep listing and the law of averages says sooner or later someone somewhere will want what you have to offer.

Took me a month to get first sale...but i didnt really try very hard to get going

    Music.
Plato says when the music of a society changes, the whole society will
    change.
Aristotle, a contemporary of Plato's, says when music changes there should be laws to govern the nature and the character of that music.
Lenin says that the best and the quickest way to undermine any society is through its music!

    Default No sales whatsoever!

Three months and counting..... Actually pretty discouraged at this point. It's not even that I haven't sold anything - I haven't even had an inquiry about any of my items. I didn't want to have to jump back into eBay, but unfortunately I have no choice. I just finished up two auctions in one week there and sold quite a bit. While I love the format of this site and the options it provides, without sells it's just been a time hog getting it set up. Maybe someone could take a look at some of my listings and give me some advice - I really don't want to give up on this site. Thanks, Shelley

I had a quick look at your listings and saw that many of of them are very low priced collectors items. I don't buy such things, and we are in a depression, so are they needed ? And I would not like to buy things online where the postage is more than the item !
    Sales are slower on here.
I sold most of my items to forum viewers.
But I do get more views on here than on ebay due to their search system, so that makes me want to carry on listing here. I resent paying fees to ebay when I get no views !

#5. Two points - I looked at one of your listings (Boba Fett Pez) It has 50+ days to run. That's 50+ days before it gets to the top of the listings. 5 days repeated 10 times gives you more chances to appear on the about-to-close display and to be the first one of the first items a casual browser sees when they visit your category.

Not sure how much competition you have but..... remember this started as a European site and you don't ship outside the U.S. Selling overseas really isn't that scary and your Pez is less likely to be available this side of the pond. I've only sold 4 comics and a baseball card this week, but the baseball card's going to California. I'd almost certainly have to wait until the season starts (and beyond) to sell any if I only sold within the U.K. There are a few fans here, but we're a rare breed and inexplicably branded eccentric by some!

In the two months I've been here I've swung from "hey - I sold something - everything's great" to "nobody wants my stuff, might as well burn the lot" several times but in reality neither is right. It could be busier here but there are sales to be had, and the likelihood is that for a while anyway, things will continue to improve gently. Stick with it, or at least hedge your bets and sell the stuff that would make no profit elsewhere on here and point your other buyers this way!

    Thanks for all replied.

The coolest thing is that there is no listing fee here - I subscribed seller+lifetime the first thing - the cost is not even enough to cover my monthly listing fees on feebay. I am ready to ride the wave and see where we are headed. Yeah it will take some effort to set all up but the low FVF allow me to price the item lower than on the other side so hopefully in the long run sales will get better. Fingers crossed!

    druusilla,

I sold within the first 24 hours of listing. Just listing the right thing at the right time. I also sell worldwide and calculate shipping.
It might be the variety of items you have listed. Souvenir spoons, pinbacks and pez, move very slowly.
I also use Buy Now, but occasionally run things through the auction cycle just to get my stores noticed. That really does help.

It took us about 3 weeks. Only been here since the end of December and waiting for sale number 2. That is the great thing about here. You can just keep letting stuff run and not have to pay while it sits.
