THESE METHODS OF PAYMENT ARE ONLY GOOD IF YOU USE YOUR CREDIT CARD FOR PURCHASING GOODS AND PEOPLE LIKE ME ONLY USE MINE AS AN EMERGENCY OR FOR REGISTERING FOR THINGS LIKE WHEN I JOINED EBID AND UPGRADED TO SILVER :!: :!: :!:

THE REST OF THE TIME I EITHER PAY BY CHEQUE OR POSTAL ORDER OR IF THEY ARE CLOSE TO ME I TRY AND ARRANGE PICK UP AND PAY CASH

Fastpay is by far the best payment provider. I have tried some of the others and consider that the facilities and the costs are superior. It is very simple to use, it is funded by a high street bank and the only cost is to the winning bidder. This cost is only 20p, less than a first class stamp. I don't think that it can be beaten. Unless you know something I don't.

er...PPPay no transfer fees and escrow facilities is a big plus. Also much much better layout. Have you actually tried PPPay. I suspect not !

NOCHEX is the one for me. I've been using it for ages and it is completely hassle-free for me.
I have a seller account so can have more than the usual £90 in the account and can receive payments up to £50 from non-NOCHEX registered users (they do have to pay 99p though). Comparing it to some credit card charges it is still good value.

PPPay looks like a good idea and FastPay also. PPP seems to be very much like NOCHEX and they even use the same colour scheme! I have looked into FastPay ans it seems to be another good system. Really you need to be able to integrate all the best features of each to have a really good system.

The best thing I have found with NOCHEX is that when I withdraw funds they are in my bank account within 2 days.

What you have to judge these systems against is how much it would cost to offer your customers Credit Card payment facilities, then they are all excellent value for the small user.

    Hi Mitch,

Everything you mention seems to be beaten by PPPay www.pppay.com
£50? .....PPPay allow £100 immediately to be paid. Cost 49p instead of 99p and payments into bank account seem to take a max of 2 days also.
But the big plus is escrow payments. I would be interested to see you register and review. I am (or was) with both but am a PPPay convert. The layout and the automatic calculations is top notch.

Thanks Ollie, I'll be looking into PPP further and will assess its worth to me. Cannot be a bad thing to offer customers as many different payment methods as possible.

I am a member of PayPal but don't use it in favour of NOCHEX, maybe PPP will oust NOCHEX?????

    We'll see

I suspect once the word spreads it may oust NoChex, either that or force them into service enhancements and a price war with any luck.
