Been having a few issues accessing eBid on my machine so O/H re-ghosted it last night as it seemed to only be my machine with the problem.
This morning I could get into eBid but not the forums, youngest could access eBid on both his windows and Linux machines but O/H couldn't get in the forums on his. He worked out it was probably spybot causing the problem. Below is the email O/H has sent to support.

My other half has identified an issue affecting access to ebid that appears to be caused by Spybot Search and Destroy passive protection (immunization).

When this protection is removed, the frequent timeouts stop and page load is much faster.

Spybot immunization places several (hundreds) entries into the registry LM and CU under zone map and p3p - internet settings and into the hosts file.

The issues arising appear to be due to the slowing of the browser page load process as filtering occurs, but there is some evidence that specific protection entries cause problems.

With Spybot passive protection in place, uk.ebid.net is slow or times out, meetup.ebid.net is blocked (currently) - site unknown.

The passive protection can be removed without uninstalling Spybot, go to immunization page and select "undo".
