You could print your paper copies yourself then
sorry kimbo... I wasnt having a pop.... I was just thinking about the outlay of producing something that there might not be a large call for (if it only sells to ebid members)
Yes, but you're back at not having a proper printed format, and discs just don't work for when you're curled up by the fire with a stack of cookbooks looking for inspiration, neither the CD nor the paper works. Just my view though - I'll go with whatever Smiffy wants to produce!
While you are here please check out my shops and auctions.
Thanks.
Dan.

Just another idea to throw the spanner in the works -
There is a way of setting a document onto A5 paper allowing for the A5 to be 2 pages of the book, folded in the middle.
I think the idea of laminated covers would be good as the covers would be stiffened, and washable if need be. The binding could be as previously suggested, hole punched, with ribbon threaded through, and tied into a neat bow. The ribbon could be the narrow double sided satin ribbon, colour co-ordinated to the text / pic on the cover. I'll cover the ribbon - as long as I know which colour. The end result would be a neat presentable booklet, light enough to be posted to buyers, and also practical enough in that it would allow people to put it into a binder if they wanted to. I think A5 would be more appealing, but I'll go with whichever is easiest for the one sorting out the layout of the recipes on their pc.
EDIT - we've got to try to keep production costs to a minimum to keep the purchase price low enough to encourage buyers outside of the forums to buy when their money is tight - I could take a few with me to the bootsales to sell.

Have you thought about A6?
even smaller and lighter - font would have to be smaller though.
I have a lot of those little A6 recipe booklets that you buy in souvenir shops and they are just stapled - they are A6 size.
If I can do it, I'll post a pic of what I mean.
this type of thing:-
