    Hi Al

It's not allowed across the whole site.....it encourages business to be taken offsite iykwim

Why does it confuse you that some people break the rules?

If you find something that you don't believe to be correct, simply bring it to the attention of eBid Support and let them make the decision.

    [Dons 'Mr Pedantic' hat]

I was going to respond to a similar query earlier today. Rather than just say you can't - I wanted to provide a link to a statement that you can't. I couldn't locate it.

Forum rules state: Signature links can be made to sites outside eBid as long as the linked site is not e-commerce enabled.

That is pretty clear but only applies to the forums.

Listing rules state: Listings with links to another website and/or where you are offering the same item for sale.

Now that only says you can't link to a site within your listings where YOU are selling the same items.

Nowhere could I find an edict that links to e-commerce sites were disallowed across the site. What about My All About Me pages for example?

I thought I had seen the rule myself but am now wondering if so many people had said it that I had come to assume I had seen it writ.

Can anyone give a reference to where the blanket ban on links to e-commerce sites is written down?

Ah, I believe Mister Charm here is referring to me - my ebid help pages (yes, that would be the free resource I put time and effort into to help other ebidders) is *temporarily* housed on my booksbykimbo site (older ebidders might recall it usually lives on my bykimbo site, which is not a selling site). Because bykimbo fell over a few times last week or so (again, ebidders might remember me mentioning this) I rehoused the FAQ on booksbykimbo rather than have the *ebidder's help pages* unavailable.

It's due to return to bykimbo any day... perhaps if I stopped trying to help ingrates I'd have more time to do this sort of thing.

Now Sir, do you have something you wish to say to me? Because frankly it had better not be another cry for help.
