As I cannot get access to MY eBId, Ive come to forum messages, and still would like the term UNSED added, thats a very simple addition to the first current two.

AS for my stuff, Id get a bit ruffled about someone telling me I could not list something I had printed for me as a publisher to be sold under NEW.

Just as I could have a book published, its NEW and current and 'in print' while the original publisher/printer has stock, then its classed as out of print.
I think the word NEW is being misinterpreted, its NEW in its catagory regarding its condition we are talking about NOT its age of the item. I have a stock of books that Im a distributor for & by the book dealing fratertity its still NEW because my stock is direct & NOT been sold to any individual yet.
I have a stock of books too that came in when we had a shop, (closed in 2000), yet the books are not used, they are as mint and wrapped as the day they were printed. Condition is either NEW or UNUSED, so I dont think that fair to call these USED, quite by who exactly?

The topic will run on until eBid see enough input to add the third option, as all owners of a site will read the forum messages although an odd message to support may be good, loads of individual messages may not be a brilliant idea maybe filling an inbox about one topic!
A french based auction site studies forum messages & has deleted bad comments & restricted postings to members only, and act on what they read without much of a prompting.

Being a newcommer on here it takes time to get used to a new format & by now you will see I have listings in my specialist field, some as a test of response from visitors here.

So in a nutshell, my 'NEW' is something that has NOT been owned by anyone else than the maker/producer/distributor/agent/shopkeeper if you follow, related to what it is.

I have quite a number of items in the "unused" category - in the bags they were put into by a shop assistant, often with the receipt, but with dates back in the sixties and seventies. These are not exactly new but most definitely not used.

So there shows another example in some way to state that any item where the condition is 'as new' has not been 'used' and the date between bought new & the current sale is is far longer than Im talking about on what were 'current' books and publicaUtions.

Id still say those ought to be in the third as UNUSED, agree yours are not USED, but as these were bought as a customer (or someone else even in the chain) these cant really be NEW as they appear more second-hand.
If you were the shopkeeper or the wholesaler maybe even the producer of those items then they have not been sold to the public, but still its starting to stretch the NEW wording somewhat, so I do hope that none of us get difficulties over the two options when they dont fit either.

A response here about this from EBID themselves or in the 'news' would solve all our queries.

As for dropping off listings where an poor judgement or blatant mislisting has occured is fine with the listing/s concerned but considering some have thousands online, I would see that somewhat unfair to drop ALL listings on the account when it may be one or two recent listings causing an issue. that makes me nervous of not having backups as yet!

Yes, please - those three just about cover it.. except, of course, in stamps where we want "mint" and "used" - new has no meaning there. I suspect coins and bank notes are similar but don't know.

P.S. I suspect that making the condition box different for those categories may not be simple, but it is REALLY important that you address it somehow, Gazza. It is a question of making the listings look professional for the stamp sellers. Perhaps a coin/bank note specialist would comment for their area? I do know about Philatelic stuff but not about currency collecting.
