New/Used
Would it be possible to have another option in the drop down box in the listings. Could 'unused' be added to the new/used box.
I have items I want to list which I have bought and not used. So that are not 'new' but they haven't been used either.
At present I have to either list them as new and explain that they are 'pre-owned but unused' in my description...or list them as used and again explain in the description that they in fact 'unused'

This is a good idea. I have seen this other places worded as NEW old stock.
Unused as a choice would be great. It's the same on the other side:new or used and nothing in between. Even if it means I have to edit half of my listings......

The new/used doesn't leave room for new items that have been put away, forgotten and never used. As you say in those instances they are not new as they could be anything up to 50+ years old. By the same token they are not used, as they could still have labels on or sealed packaging.

I don't know. That is a bit of a grey area. If an item was bought new, stashed away, forgotten about for say 5 years, then re-discovered, which could it be classed as. It may be a scarf, still with labels attached, or in a sealed packet. It isn't new, as its 5 year old. It isn't used because it still has its labels or still in packet. It is a difficult one to class.
I had a similar situ on the other side, with cross stitch mags. They were bought new in 2002, put in a magazine rack, until I had time to do the free cover kit, and forgotten about. I re-found them and listed them. They were new (some still had the till receipt in them, plus the other bits of advertising bumph you get with magazines), but not new to the year that I listed them. I had my listings pulled because of it.
