Radio advertising

I notice that the recent announcement regarding radio advertising by Ebid has been ridiculed by people on the forum with comments about the adverts going out on minority stations.
I have read the statement, and no mention is made as to which stations will be used, so why the negativity? As far as I am concerned any kind of advertising has to be a good thing. Hopefully large commercial stations such as Talk Sport will be targeted.

My concern is that yes the adverts that are planned are good for eBid, but before they do the adverts, I have the opinion that the site should be made more stable first.

No point spending X amount of money on adverts which will get people to the site only for the site to go down because the servers cannot cope.

I was around when a similar thing happened on another auction site.

They spent oodles of dosh on TV advertising and the influx of visitors made the site got totally pear-shaped.

Couldn't agree more.
Ebid desperately needs any advertising it can get. BUT if you turn up the demands on an appliance with a small fuse the fuse will blow rendering the appliance useless.
Ebid needs a bigger fuse first then the advertising.
I can only assume that Mark and Gazza already know this, but the sites lack of performance over the last few days does make me wonder.

We dont always agree, Merlin - but when a member has been here for 5 years and someone who has only just turned up here starts throwing their weight around - I have to admit I get a tad annoyed.

No-one sticks with a site for that long without good reason
