This is from the last round of category additions a few months back. I just bumped the thread. We're talking about 'Collectables/Toys and Games' which is where I list all my vintage toys (aside from diecast).

Star Wars is quite well provided for isn't it?

I was thinking about all the other types of toy (see above).

    Bump! For your consideration.

I've moved the vintage section from Toys & Games into Collectables > Toys & Games > Toys and added Construction Toys to start.

More work is needed, example problem ... someone viewing the T & G > Const > Meccano will not know about the Collectables > T & G > T > Const > Meccano so we are opening a can of worms here. I've always tried to keep to a minimum this happening.

We will be adding "ghost" categories soon where a category can be listed in one section that is relevant to what you are viewing but the link will take you to another

    eg.

here we could list "Collectable Meccano" in the T & G > Meccano and "ghost" this to Collectables > Meccano ..... etc

I've just looked at the structure of another well known site and noticed that everything (collectable toys, modern toys, games, diecast etc) is under the one main category 'Toys & Games'. The problem here seems to be that toys are caught between the two main categories 'Collectables' and 'Toys and Games'

Would it be simpler (and more helpful to buyers) if the toys & games subcategory under Collectables was deleted and everything moved over to the main Toys and Games category?

What about diecast toys (models)? Would they also be better off in the main Toys & Games category? It's a bit of a reversal, I know, but it would solve all the problems I think.

We moved it over and renamed it to Vintage.
