As a Christian I embarassed that that creationists try to say they are right. It is as horrifying as extreme Islam.
Was speaking of actual scientist who happen to be Christian and some who are not. I have always felt priveledged to live in a country where there is freedom of speech and freedom of religion. The freedom to believe whatever someone chooses to believe. To be protected by a Declaration of Independence and A Constitution, to do just that. As I was saying I have little liking of "religion" or "theology" (added) both of which have very little to do with relationship. Just check out the Old Testament Pharasee and Scribes; would have to look high and low to find a more biting and toxic group.
Re: The Science of Creationism
I agree with freedom of speech, and would defend the right of people to say what they believe.
However, when I observe the sheer number of creationists in the US, I would assert my opinion that something has gone badly wrong with Christianity. What is wrong? Well the Reformation taught us that we can read the Bible for ourselves, but when it become that preachers, unbridled by responsibility to academic norms about how the Bible can be understood, sway half a nation, the parallel I make is that McDonalds have freedom of speech to persuade us that their burgers are good for us.

Whatever! God Bless America! Home of the Brave and the FREE!
Re: The Science of Creationism
This is religion v reality!
While we all like to believe the best of humanity,
we ARE animals just the same as your pet cat or dog.
The difference is that we are the dominant species on earth.
To think that some GOD almighty BEING created us especially is arrogant.
We are the product of millions of years of evolution and chance, natural and earth shattering events etc etc.
We are intelligent beings (supposedly) we should use our brains and logic and put ourselves firmly in our place within the universe.
We are a minute speck of dust in the cosmos that could disappear in a heartbeat.
Live your life and cherish what evolution has brought you and then rejoice in the promise and also dread the future as mankind emerges into a future that is anything but certain.
Re: The Science of Creationism
We all know religion and politics starts wars lol So wars and fights aside.
I like to think I was created and not mutated and ALL me parts are wonderfully made/Created.
I will keep up my faith in the GOOD BOOK and let the world do and say what it wants too.
Its called free will to each individual
Re: The Science of Creationism
I agree IT is not the Bible that is false its those that teach it incorrectly
Re: The Science of Creationism
They can take away our Freedom of speech but they cant take our thoughts and prayers away from us.

Other way round for me, more in science than theology (i.e. none) but I agree with you.
