Re: For Gazza and everyone.
its a useless search engine ..brings up new when you press on used, does not find any of my items, if i put in copper spanner its brings up all things described as spanners and all items described as copper.so hardly any use at all.

I agree. Pretty useless site for stamps as well.

Which is precisely why I suggested an option for eBid sellers to choose whether they wanted to use For-sale. If it isn't overly expensive it's a great way to put eBid up there with the big boys. No doubt if it worked and benefitted the whole of eBid sellers, you wouldn't feel at all embarrassed.
Edit: Many search engines work on single words, it's why sellers on other sites are trying to sell a less desirable item by including the name of a more collectable like describing a penny red in the title and as not a penny black in the description; the search engine will pick up penny black and draw more viewers.

So are you actually suggesting that eBid should pay good money to use this site or just that some sellers might make their own private arrangements for their listings on this site?

No, I don't even know how the pricing is structured, whether it's a periodic blanket fee regardless of numbers of listings, whether it's payment per listing or whatever else is the cost. It's something that if the management want to look at, they're free to do it, there's no cost to asking questions but I think if it's sensible money it just might be the way to go and would not only help those who are waiting for things to happen but there's a lot of potential to bring sellers in if they see increasing exposure to the site.
Re: For Gazza and everyone.
hmm are you describing for-sale.co.uk or the bays search??? :P
actually I'll take that back - if it only brings up all items with either of the 2 words thats miles better thasn searching for camera & getting results for washing machines
