Chat about Pin Badge Collecting...
Hope I'm not the only one on eBid who collects pin badges, don't really fancy talking to my self.;)
How do you display, store or organise your pin badges? Here's how I keep mine (I've resized photos, hope they won't be too big).
For the pin badges not on a backing card I start with an A4 size black card

Then I stick white price labels on to it, as evenly as I can

It's now ready to add pin badges to, using the holes in the price tags to push pins through. Here's a couple of examples. The second shows a page of pin badges in clear sleeve ready to be put in binder.

Pin badges on backing cards are a little easier. I use bluetac to keep the pin badges in place.
Here's some examples

Look forward to communication from other pin badge collectors. :)
Re: Chat about Pin Badge Collecting...
I'm very impressed with your organisation. I was going to upload a photo of my badges which are currently in an untidy pile all over my desk but the batteries in my camera died at the last moment. I'm not a collector tho' they're just passing through :)
Re: Chat about Pin Badge Collecting...
Very impresive and easy to browse through.
All of my pin badges are in black pouches ready to go and stored in boxes .;)
Re: Chat about Pin Badge Collecting...
Thanks for your replies and compliments re organising my pin badge collection, though I'm not as organised in other areas of my life. For instance, I purchased and received a lovely butterfly card from Olivia, with the intention of putting it in a frame and hanging it in our butterfly room (spare bedroom). I managed to get a suitable from from local charity shop, but now I can't find the butterfly card. I put it somewhere safe, and we all know what that means. ;) It'll turn up, probably when I'm looking for something else, just hope I don't mislay the frame in the meantime.
Re: Chat about Pin Badge Collecting...
Been there, done that...
My postcard collection is well organised, but the rest of my collectables are in 'safe' places.:)
Put the frame on the wall where you are going to hang it and when you find the card, frame it.
Unless you put the wall 'somewhere safe' you know will know where the frame is LOL.
I have a good memory, but can't remember where I put it.
Re: Chat about Pin Badge Collecting...
I had no idea there are people who collect pin badges. I will now try and find the ones I have and list them
Re: Chat about Pin Badge Collecting...
Beautifully organized, looks great, makes me almost a little jealous, LOL. :)
Best wishes for many sales to all,
Re: Chat about Pin Badge Collecting...
You really have a nicely organized collection, Emmily121. Do you collect any certain theme of pin or pins in general?
Re: Chat about Pin Badge Collecting...
Meebo, let me know when you do, I'll have a look see if you list any I haven't got and that are within my budget. ;)
For me it's an enjoyable (cheap) hobby that doesn't take up a lot of space, though husband still complains about the amount of space pin badges take up, I just ignore him. :)
FirstGreenlsGold, thank you. Most of the pin badges I have are charity pin badges. I only collect the type with butterfly backs/clasp, that's a round disc with 2 'wings' that are squeezed to take the clasp on and off the pin.
There's no actual theme, just any I like. Some are advertising, including tiny bottles of drink, I have a Bailleys, also souvenir, the bottom, pink folder is a little dark, I was well chuffed when I got the Harrods pin badges.
I don't like sport, I have a couple of Arsenal pin badges listed as they were with some others I got, didn't want them.
No pin badge collectors have replied yet. It's great to get the compliments. Thanks again all.:)
