Newbie buyer unable to log in?
Hi,
Sent ASL to what appeared to be a npb and also sent a message directly to buyer's email (not sure if I'm allowed to do that, but it was my first non-payer!).
Had a return message saying that they wanted to buy, but their Authentication email not working, that the buyer reset passwords, but no luck, and that they couldn't log in because they were unable enter the CAPTCHA info.
Does this seem like an excuse or is this a reason for some npbs? - should I advise this buyer to contact support and can they do that, if they can't log in?
Many thanks for any advice on this matter,
Marie.
Re: Newbie buyer unable to log in?
Someone will be along soon to answer your main query but, yes, you can contact a buyer via the email at the bottom of the item sold page.
Re: Newbie buyer unable to log in?
I would also forward all the deatils to support as well.
I seemed to be dealing with glitches yesterday evening.
Re: Newbie buyer unable to log in?
They could contact support direct with thier listing details and account name - support@ebid.net for help, even if they cannot log in.
Re: Newbie buyer unable to log in?
Yes, I would tell the buyer to contact support and also contact support yourself. If the buyer is not an NPB, they'll appreciate the help.
Best wishes for many sales to all,

Difficult to say whether it is an excuse or not. A process can be made the simplest in the world but there are always going to be some people who will make a complete mess of it. You did the right thing contacting the buyer by e-mail.
Previously, where I have had a buyer in difficulties after joining, although for totally different reasons than those given above, then I send them a direct invoice from paypal. That way the purchase can be sent once payment is received (just mark it on the ASL as paid) and then I can help them with the account, or refer them to support.
Re: Newbie buyer unable to log in?
Thank you all for your help.
The buyer has paid by bank transfer and I will post the item first thing on Monday and let them know that they can contact Support. I will also, as suggested, contact Support - and then, hopefully, we've got another buyer able to visit the site and buy again in the future.
Brilliant of you all to give so much help - that's what make eBid so worthwhile.
Cheers, everybody!
Marie.
