China Forbids International Tourism to Tibet Indefinitely
BEIJING – In a matter of days, the number of expected foreign visitors to Tibet has gone from millions to zero.
Chinese authorities alerted foreign travel agencies Tuesday that they would no longer be issuing entry permits to Tibet, the latest in a series of regulations being put on travelers to Tibet. The announcement follows the self-immolation of two Tibetans last week.

I was about to reply then forgot which forum I was on...so don't think I'll add anything to this thread
Re: China Forbids International Tourism to Tibet Indefinitely
Obviously a very bad thing for all Tibetans & not a good sign for Tibet/China relations again.
May be China's way of trying to stop the self-immolation protests or, another major crackdown ahead?
Very sad news in either case.

One of my dad's friends was asked to set up a school for refugee Tibetan children by the Dali Lama and she worked for him for about 28 years. It's just so dreadful to see that things are getting even worse.

Thank you for the information, this is not too good for the local settlers there in Tibet. They should in other way change this one.

You need to remove your ecommerce link from your signature as this is against eBid rules.
