Why do people close their threads before they get the help they asked for?
I've noticed a new trend here. In the past couple of weeks, three different threads have been posted by new members, who get a few answers, and then, in the middle of an ongoing dialogue, closed the threads. In one case, the OP said he realized his original complaint was not warranted. The other two? I have no idea why they did it.
All of these had somewhat negative titles, and I'm wondering if this is a new method for trolls to get them out on Google. To a casual observer, it would appear that everyone on eBid had abandoned these people who were asking for help.
Am I being paranoid?

Nah, watch some of my posts and see what happens. It's hilarious.

No, you're not being paranoid - I've spotted it too in my infrequent visits to the forum - spotted one earlier and the OP's last post had an obscure question in it, which could have been answered if the thread had been left open. Their loss.
Re: Why do people close their threads before they get the help they asked for?
Perhaps they realise what the solution is themselves, or ask in more than one place and get an answer elsewhere? I don't see closing a thread as "troll" behaviour, because the whole point for trolls is to get reactions. Can't do that if you close the thread. As for just anti-eBid... is anybody really that bored? What would be the point?
Re: Why do people close their threads before they get the help they asked for?
Or, they could have seen the responses to perceived 'negativity' and decided to scarper quick!
Re: Why do people close their threads before they get the help they asked for?
maybe they decided to delete their thread but did not 'follow through' and only ended up closing it....
Re: Why do people close their threads before they get the help they asked for?
I regularly delete my threads...don't want to let the place look untidy :)
Re: Why do people close their threads before they get the help they asked for?
Well, i cannot talk for someone else but i did open a thread and a member said why do you keep banging on and said i was negative.
Guess such answers really put me off the forum for some days.
RUDE SHOCK.

For what it's worth...I read that thread and didn't think you were banging on about anything...and I didn't view your post as negative.
I saw the reply and that poster is now on my ignore list...lol
