Vintage Yarn/Wool
does anyone have any idea how I would fins out more about a vintage yarn? It was a small producer, not one of the larger ones. I've done all the usual net searches and even rang the wool shop in the town where the owner, a local woman, had never heard of it.
The yarn is in hanks and looks lmore like cotton than wool and the twist is irregular so it could have been homespun. I need to find out more about it before i can list it properly

You could try this site.
It is particularly good if you have a maker's name or town.
