4 week old Beko washing machine has burning smell
Purchased a Beko washing machine for my elderly father on 2 December from a local Euronics retailer.
Worked perfectly until last week when a nasty burning smell developed when he switched it on.
Although I've registered the machine purchase with Beko, who do I contact about this getting looked at?
And do we have to accept an engineer's visit or can we demand a replacement?
Re: 4 week old Beko washing machine has burning smell
There was a post on here a couple of weeks ago - not sure if you started it or who did, but it was about recalls of Beko Dryers.
I don't know if washers were also on the fire hazard recall/repair list. However, if an item is so new, and not fit for purpose, then I'd think they would replace it. Should have some sort of warranty. It might be an easy fix, tho, and as long as Beko paid for the service, I'd probably go that route first, myself. Who's to say another washer wouldn't have the same issue..
Is there any way that a sock or something might have gotten down and be blocking

It was Sarah (Raindropsies) Ma'am - about Fridge/Freezers ~ but it was an overheating problem.

It might have been fridges, but it also was driers - mine was on the list, and I contacted the company, who will be sending someone out to fix the fire hazard - whatever it is. In the meantime, they recommend cleaning out the lint filter! lol

Ended up ringing the retailer, who in turn have contacted Beko to send an engineer out.
Now waiting for a call back to say when they're coming .....................

Sounds a bit like my gas cooker. There is always a burning smell when I use it.
