Does this help? (I haven't W10 or a printer but found this info):
- Attempt to set the printer to online. Go to "Settings" and then "Printers." ...
- Clear any print jobs. Double click on the printer, then go to the "Printer Menu" and select "Cancel All Documents." ...
- Toggle the printer off, then back on. Check to see if the printer is jammed. ...
- Restart the computer.
Why does my wireless HP Envy 4500 printer stays offline even ...

Taken a while but think I've got it sorted - for now.
Just hope they're still talking to each other tomorrow when I print the post labels ....
Ann I've had a similar problem in the past with my printer, although mine is a Brother and not HP. You might need to enter your wifi password back into your printer as everything has been disconnected having had a new computer.
Lol, your post beat mine ! Glad you've got it sorted.
Glad it is now working. What solved it for you? For future reference in the event that someone else encounters this: I also have had this problem with a few computers. Had something to do with the cable in each case. I suspect that the connection was loose somewhere and/or a heat problem (seems to have occurred at times when the room was hotter or colder than usual).
Haven't had that issue with printer that wirelessly connects, though. With the printer that connects through the router, I have had times after updating its driver and firmware in which I have had go through the process of resetting the printer to connect again to the router before it will print.
OK - got the blummin' thing printing [after a fashion], but now it won't scan :(
Never had this problem before and I'm stumped.
Downloaded new driver and scanning *seems* to be working - phew.
Been all over the place with HP and their help pages - hopefully this is the end of it.
Happening again :( Can only print if I send by email to HP ePrint.
No idea what's happened with the settings. Think I'll have uninstall and start again....
