I have tried downloading some banners from clixgalore for my website which links viewers straight to this sight, none of the banners are working, are you guys aware of this problem?? how do i fix it? i'm sure i have already successfully directed some new menbers here but i can't keep track of how many due to the fact i am not using an oficial affiliate link from clixgalore.
Don't get me wrong, i'm not complaining about lost commision but i would really love to see how effective my website and promotion is, it's part of the fun for me to see how many people actually join directly from my site.
Looking forward to some advice on the banners.
Regards.

Another question about the affiliate programme - is this the same one that's linked to the Google Adsense one, should we drop the Clixgalore ones? Sorry, but I am a bit confused.

Is anyone using the Clixgalore affiliate program? I just signed up but have not yet added a banner to my site. As an after thought I googled them and found many negative posting about them and very little people with anything good to say. Some of the postings were quite old so I thought I'd check here to see if anyone has current feedback.

I signed up for 'clixgalore' and added the banner to my website, but I've heard nothing more from them. No idea if it's doing any good. I suppose I could log into my account there, but... so many accounts with so many websites, so little time...

Help! I have no idea wht's going on. I have recently been approved to be an affiliate by ebid. All I've received is my password. I have no idea where to go to get banners and info on how to insert them. I would like to put an ebid banner in chat rooms, emails, etc. I have my clixgalore acct (where did that come from?), have logged in and have been wandering around looking for answers. I checked out the tutorial too. I don't know. I'm computer/web literate. Gawd, what's going on here?
Thank you,
CGreen

Sorry I can't answer your question, CG.. just needed to add another..

In the (Affiliate) Help section it only offers the Clixgalore option when signing up for the programme, but I see many posts from people Leaving Clix and concentrating on Google(?)

Is it possible to just sign up/apply elsewhere and save time?
..and 'how'?
Cheers
Steve

We have started updating the banners at Clixgalore. You will notice these change automatically on your website over the next couple of days, you don't need to change anything.

We've also upped payouts to £1.00 or $2.00 for each new referral. We'll be adding higher payouts for Seller and Seller+ upgrades in the near future.

Thanks,
Gazza

eBid need to direct us to where the £35 link is. I am assuming that it is a direct eBid connection and not through clixgalore
Have joined clixgalore but find it hard between eBid and clixgalore to get banners for website
SO
eBid -please explain what is going on
Thanks

Crucialmusic - the £35 link is via the Google Adsense referral system and has nothing to do with Clixgalore.

OK folks - here's the good and tha bad news about the eBid affiliate programs via ClixGalore and Google Adsense

(Mark / Gazza - you might want to pin your ears back for this)

I own/operate or maintain for others, four very large websites and between them they run pretty much all of the major website configs and softwares - osCommerce, WordPress, forums, etc etc and are a mix of cPanel / FrontPage / Linux / Windows hosting and software management with MySQL / pHp etc backends. I also have a string of other smaller and more focussed sites such as region specific real estate classifieds etc. - - - lots of sites, lots of configs, lots of operating environments and pretty much whatever you can think of other than Sun OS or Apple OS is in use.

clixGalore - The code generated by clixGalore doesn't work in WordPress blogging software, nor does the code generated by Google Adsense Referrals.
It SHOULD be a straight drop into any html section of the template on any page or sidebar position, or even the header or footer, but neither providers code reveals the banners, nor registers any form of click through action.
I spent a week hassling Google and clixGalore about this, and eventually clixGalore techies gave me a personalised chopdown of the code which did work - I'm still waiting for Google to get it sorted out.
CONCLUSION - Don't expect to get the high CPA payout via Google - it ain't gonna happen. I've had to stick with the penny CPA's through clixGalore, just to be sure of having the eBid code in any of the blogs.

Deeper problem with Google
Google adsense only really works with CPC adverts (Cost per Click) due to the restrictiveness of their user agreements for publishers.

For example - any page you have with any Google Adsense code onit cannot have ads from any other Affiliate aggregator - just one clixGalore ad on any page with Adsense code and they could (and have for many) permanently and irrevocably shut down your Google Adsense and Adwords accounts and flag all your details to prevent you opening new accounts. The internet is littered with blog and forum posts condemning them on this, but it's part of the user agreement.

However, eBid's agreement with Google is for very large footprint CPA (Cost per Action) banners. This means not only do they take up a LOT of page space, you only get paid when someone signs up with eBid and pays a seller membership fee. That's a lot of CPC real-estate used on each page for a low-probability CPA rate of return.

Thus, even on pages where you can actually get the ad code to work, you're using a lot of page space to get the most ineffective type of advert for website owners.

As an example, as of today, the eBid adverts from clixGalore in one of my osCommerce implementations, have had 3,110 impressions and zero clicks in the last six months (It's on a randomised slot so only shows on about 10% of all page loads). So they have earned me exactly zero. They are 468x60 footer banners

In a WordPress blog, the 125x600 sidebar tower ad, in the last 2 months has generated 616 impressions for 15 click throughs and 1 action earning me 80p

The Google Adsense ads for eBid (Referral CPA ads) have had 1,184 impressions in 6 weeks and generated 2 clicks but zero commissions.

------------------

Overall, this tells me that the content of the ads are not hooking the viewers.

Don't get me wrong, I like the new artwork, but it's not grabbing the viewers and making them take that essential action of clicking on the ads.
The current artwork is simply a presentation of "what is eBid?"
It doesn't have any call to action such as "Click here to slash your monthly online auction fees" or "click here for lifetime membership then never pay again to sell at auction".

The artwork is fine - crisp, clean, and bright, but it does need the essential hooks of giving the viewer a reason to click, and that's what it's missing.

Also, I'm not convinced that the stroboscopic image flashing/rotation within the banners, is right for a lot of websites. Personally, I've noticed that the ads that really catch my eye on websites are the static ads - they LOOK more like part of the website and therefore demand my attention. They also load faster and appear before the animated ads, getting that essential first glimpse from the viewer. Additionally, static ads are better suited to the critical "above the fold" page location.

Within the Google Adsense system, there is not enough choice for ad sizes - small ads are getting the best conversion to clicks on all my sites, not the screaming side bar towers and over-size horizontal banners. Small ads are also easier to drop in here there and everywhere, they're great space fillers and column creators for empty margins.

On adsense, there are no text links for eBid - that's a real bummer for blogs and forum usage. Any affiliate marketer will tell you that text links are at least 10 times more effective than graphic ads. Because they can be used inline with text (reviews, reports, news etc), readers are far more likely to click on them and end up on the target website.

Gazza and Mark have made a good start in getting the affiliate programs up and running, but it's a long way from becoming a fully effective tool for pulling traffic to the site. It's an area that needs some concerted effort to offset the summer dolldrums that will happen to traffic this year, as it does every year.

Just added the Ebid affiliate banners to my site - I have a skyscarper and the one with the free teeshirt promotion.

I looked at the properties and they both include my clixgalore affiliate membership number and the banner links are working properly for me.

I only added them today so I'll make sure I keep you all updated with how they are working out.

Does anyone know which blogs allow affiliate banner links as a lot of freebie blogs dont allow them to be used for marketing purposes?
