Hi,
Very sad for Wakefield parents.
Next city up from sleepy town of Rothwell, where i live.
My mum and sister live in Wakefield.
Aways keep dogs and babies separate unless theyve grown up together. Then use caution and watch !!!!.
A dog can be replaced a human life cant.
Godbless little angel.
kind regards ,
Michaela

rottweilers are known child killers! they should not be homed by people who have children!

All dogs have the potential to attack and/or kill small children.
Anyone with any sense will keep the two apart.

of course and I agree with that 100% but what I'm saying is that rottweilers are more prone to attack children than any other breed, the public tend to think of pitbulls as being up on the top spot for aggression but its not true

. not all rottweilers are killers, some are very good pets, and are excellent with children
90% of the owners are to blame when dogs attack children

I was attacked by my neighbours rotty when i lived in south africa it didnt draw blood but it damaged a tendon in my hand the very next week my son then 2 was attacked and had to have stitches in his head and arm - he was lucky and so was I because I beat the dog on the snout grabbed leon and ran, I demanded the dog be put down and my neighbours refused - we fell out about that big time, however, the very next week there were shouts from my neighbours for help and the same dog attacked their own 13 year old son from behind and by that time had completely gone mad foaming at the mouth - took 4 bullets from teh SAP to finally kill that beast!

I also know a family personally who had reared their rottweiler from a puppy and one day she just turned on their 2 yr old daughter grabbed her and dragged her into the kennel and killed her!!!!!

si my post was saying that they should not be homed by people with children - there's a reason why they are used by guards and police - even an adult will have a hard time controlling a rotty when it loses it because of their sheer mass + the aggression factor, a child has no chance - and they can turn just like that in an instant

My sis has a english american bulldog cross, my sis adores him, but he makes me very nervous.

I would never trust her dog wiv a little one, i have actually heard him growling when kids have been around him. his never been around kids much, my sis has to shut him in the kitchen if a child comes to the house

I have 2 jack russells, think they are lot more placid then my sis dog, they are well trained, if you walk into my front room with any kind of food both my dogs will just get up and walk to the kitchen door and stay there till you tell then that you have finished eating, they know they are not allowed upstairs, so will sit at the bottom till i come down, they love being the center of attention, they have been brought up with babies around them. they love a cuddle and being pampared. when my boys come down with the kids, i dont shut the dogs away, but

Would i leave mine with kids alone

No

now the babies are toddlers, they will chase my dogs around, hit them, pull there hair ect ect ect, my dogs like any other dog will turn on them.

No one should leave a child alone with a dog dont matter how good you think your dog is
