Well they say the proof is in the pudding...Since I have started to take my time a bit more and Photograph my items (Rather then Scan them at 20 a time) My Sales (on Thiefbay) Have gone through the roof!. Not the amount of sales but the Amount of $£££££$ I am getting per item...Slowly but surely I will have to retake my Items on here and on Thiefbay.
The point is to show you that it really pays to take you time over your photos.

Hey - I like the background on these http://uk.four.ebid.net/perl/auction.cgi?auction=1187690086-5518-0&mo=auction - good contrast - looks like old cardboard box!
No probs it worked as the cats show all there detail.
Interesting light box!!

It is a cardboard box, red if you have any wallpaper left use it but nothing too busy as youl end up taking the buyers mind away from the item & staring at the wallpaper.

Good photos are really important. I always take time to fiddle with the settings and light/contrast etc.
Well done you! May your growth spurt in sales amounts continue. ;)

Poster board also works good and comes in different colors.

Normally you don't want to use the flash mounted on the camera for shots of items for an auction, you are so close that you get hot spots. You want to defuse the light which is what a light tent will do with external lighting.
A plastic milk jug with the top cut out works for small items or a plastic bucket.
I made my light tent with some pvc pipe and a sheet.

Pictures speak a thousand words with auction sales you can write the best description in the world but people still want to see what they are getting if something is fuzzy or half blanked out with the flash they might be put off cuz there could be scratches marks etc on that part..... everyone can afford a half decent camera these days so thats no excuse and its worth putting the time in to take the pictures too
