Have you spent ages and loads of money legally downloading music to your computer?
Have you got a really cool collection?
Did you know that the chances are you are not covered for the loss of that music by your insurance policy?
What would you do if your computer crashed and died? What would happen if all your music got wiped out by a virus or hardware failure?
Do you keep backups of your data? If not, why not?
Perhaps you should ask your insurance company what they can do for you?

My insurance covers me for up to £2500 in respect of digital downloads, but I expect I would have to provide some proof of purchase. Who keeps receipts anyway in these days of identity theft?
Hence the reason everything is backed up twice on my system.

Why not just rip them all to disc :-)
Save hd space then & when you want to listen to it just bung it on the cd player

I have my downloads (and everything else that is mine) backed up to a thumb drive which is in my husband's office. It is updated every couple of weeks. The chances of his office and our home both being engulfed by fire are slight. (I don't have 40 gig though)
