I listed some postcards that I knew would get some interest on the other side and priced them up a lot higher than here :) with the intention of driving traffic to ebid.
I have jst checked and have sold some over there even though I told them they were cheaper here.......lol.
Ah well it is a sale I guess :)

Impulsive buying is my guess... the 'Gotta have it NOW'.
Happens with me all the time with my website. I have everything cheaper there and can offer alot more by way of discounts, etc. but they still buy it 'there'.
No complaints from me though =)

Excellent, you made more money & can still let the buyer/s know about ebid.

I sold four miniatures on the other side to a member of the Protest Group who knows I'm pushing here as well. Annoys me a bit that eBay has some more fees to add to their tax chest.

Happened to me this week with my fab rubber duckies pictures (blatant plug!) - told the buyer they were cheaper over here but she said she couldn't be bothered to look elsewhere (in a nice way!) and then ended up buying two sets from me!
Ken, that is very disappointing to hear - can't understand that at all.

....people might just as well get used to the fact that eBay will ALWAYS be top dog in the auction business, their name and client base will live forever, if there are slight hiccups like the one at present, they will get over it by whatever means they have to use. Some eBay buyers may well be "dragged" over to other much smaller auction sites, but in the grand scheme of things they have the power to overcome such problems.
....FACT;)

Agreed.
They are far too big to be affected by a bit of bad press (if there is such a thing) and a few hundred sellers threatening to leave. Happened 3 years ago - and whilst I am pleased I found this place (more for the forum than anything), smaller sites like this one are never going to be a serious threat to Ebay. They may be a major annoyance to the pinkies however :D

Don't think anybody would argue with you but it is a shame that someone from the Protest Group would be so blatant.

I think alot of people fail to understand or just block out the fact that feebay are out to get rid of shop listings in favour of auction style listings. This means that if the latest round of greed don't get the job done then there will be more measures to achieve the stated goals. This means more defections to come. Of course they could wise up and stop before they lose 100's more store owners.... oh! Will you look at that! A pig with wings!
Lets face it they dont care about buyers or sellers, they just want more $$. So they can dish out more dividends to shareholders and award themselves a fat pay rise.
One thing i like about the forums here, its not full of trolls trying to make everyone miserable and the whinging is quite rare. So in respect for this, I will try to leave the troubles from over there, where they belong - on the feebay boards. Please kick me up the backside if I sound like I'm whinging, the above is meant to sound positive for ebid.
