Would you flamin' believe it?!
I just received a threat of a NEG because I dared to politely ask a seller for feedback on a completed auction from last month.
This is after I'd already left him a positive feedback despite the fact he was slow sending the goods.
Of all the rude, arrogant, fecking cheek!
I'm not a happy bunny and there's absolutely nothing I can do about it!

That happened to me once over there and again I'd left positive feedback first so I couldn't do anything.
Lesson learnt and I no longer leave feedback first! but it's bloody annoying.

Damian i have had all sorts of STRANGE BODS on ebay over the past few months. They are getting more and more ARROGANT and IGNORANT ,,, they get their money , some of them, and then they just don't want to know.
Some of them are allergic to leaving feedback i am convinced of it.
RECENTLY ... I bought summat off this one woman who would not provide her name and addy , as i had already checked out via CHEQUE payment i could not re check out via paypal , i asked her about 6 times for either her name and addy OR a paypal invoice.
In the end i got her email off ebay and paid her via paypal . A week later she sent me 4 emails saying she was REPORTING me for non payment  I copied and pasted the paypal transaction and the ref number for the payment. Only yesterday did she admit that she was wrong. STILL NO ITEM , i paid for ages ago.
100% NEG coming her way. She can retaliate all she bleedin well likes.

I guess i have been fairly lucky so far on feebay. No negs and everyone has left feedback so far.
How many of you who buy on feebay contact the buyer first just to see how they reply? I always do this, if they reply politely and show some intelligence then i will buy.
As we know a lot of people bump up postage to keep the other cost down. I was after a cd once and contacted 3 different people, asking them why their postage costs were so high. I got 2 replies from the 3. One was polite and explained that it was or for good quality protective packaging. Of course i knew the real reason but he/she was very polite about it. The other reply i recieved was:
I can choose my postage cost at what i like you idiot, who are you to question it i can see your not serious about buying from me so get lost. I am blocking you so i can stop you from bidding on any of my auctions ever again and i am complaining about you to ebay for time wasting. Time waster.
Have a guess which one i bought from?

You don't have to be a seller on feepay for very long before realising just how many ignorant and selfish people there are! I have received a few negs in my time over there, mostly in retaliation for me telling the truth! (NPB) You also come up against sarcasm and downright bloody-mindedness! I got fed-up of receiving unfair feedback, so I do what Victoria does now, I leave feedback AFTER they have!

Funny, I've made it a point not to request feedback on eBay, right from the start. I think, over the 6 years I've been buying and selling there, I'm "owed" about 200 feedback comments. It doesn't bother me really, my feedback score has built up steadily regardless.
However, here on eBid, I bought two items two years ago. I received feedback from one seller quickly enough, but the other didn't leave any. I left it at that. Recently, I bought an item without realizing that the seller was the one who hadn't left me feedback. I received the item, was pleased and left positive feedback. Guess what? The seller hasn't so far left feedback! (It's been about three weeks). Doubly irritating because with the item, the seller enclosed a printed note saying, essentially, "you leave feedback, I'll do the same". So, I decided to use eBid's "Request Feedback" option. Haven't heard a dicky-bird. Ah well.

With regards to the Ebid one - change the feedback to a neutral and just say - will change once feedback has been left. Usually works ;)

I've used eBids "Request Feedback" button and haven't heard anything either :(
Perhaps the email isn't working? I don't know, annoying all the same when feedback isn't left...I mean, what's it cost???

I have only received one neg FB as a Buyer on Espit.
Fact. I paid by Paypal 7 minutes after the auction ended. It doesn't get much better than that as for Seller does it? The payment went through without a hitch.
The Seller however sent a discontinued 20 year old porcelain ornament and a snow globe from the USA in a large box. The snowglobe was in a small carrier bag. The ornament had no wrapping round it. He had added a scant handful of polystyrene beads and a sheet of newspaper over the top. The snowglobe arrived broken and the glaze on the ornament, which was pefect in the photo, was "crazed" wiping out the value. I gave him a neutral, as it appeared from his FB that he had sent badly packed goods before. I got a Neg. I complained and got disgusting e-mails through Espit's internal system. I also got emails from other people he had abused. We sent a joint complaint to Espit. I still have the Neg FB. He is still a PowerSeller, which says it all really. It's not only Buyers that can be ignorant pigs. His usual response to criticism is to leave FB calling people retards or accuse them of being stoned or drunk. The really nasty e-mails he sends to women.

I have had some bad experiences with buyers's and seller's, i now will only leave feedback when i have recieved it first, they think twice about giving you a neg if they could receive one aswell, it's not nice but we all learn from our mistakes!
I have'nt sold anything on ebid yet, but i imagine is the same as the other!

As a seller, i leave feedback as soon as i receive payment, as a buyer, i leave feedback when i receive goods.
If i don't get feedback my life still goes on, i do tend not to buy again from a seller that doesn't leave it though.

you see i cant leave feedback until i know they are completely satisfied and one of the best and most effcicent ways they can let know that they are is to tell me though +'ve feedback (and i tell them that much in a polite auto responder when they bid)
plus mine is automated when they have paid and left + feedback and it saves me even having to think about it.
negs used to pee me of to a scale of nine out of ten - now im down to about a two but i still hate the system
If someone pays me, the feedback i leave is based on their payment, not on the goods i send, the feedback they leave me is based on the goods.
If i'm confident that the goods i send are as described, then i don't need to wait for their feedback before saying if they are good payers.

If i was only selling one or two items I'd do the same im sure but when you shift a ton of kit mistakes DO happen, and stuff does go missing - no matter how perfect i think i am. If your ssystem works for you why change it, mine works for me but my perfect system would be 24/7 free virtual eskcrow (however you spell that)
Yes, it works for me, it's a shame more people don't do likewise, if i pay for an item immediately, i should get good feedback based solely on that, it doesn't matter whether i'm happy with the goods or not, that is down to the seller to make sure the goods are in good condition & as described.
I can only act honourably myself, it's up to the seller to leave me feedback if they want my custom again.

yeah you're right. i suppose another system would be to have two feedbacks one to say great fast payment and then another to cover you as a seller if the idiot punter ordered the wrong size (for example) :-)
Lol, i like your way of thinking on that.

Interesting idea, but I don't think I'll go that way. I was even a little unsure about using the "Request Feedback" thing. The way I look at it, if the guy doesn't want to/can't be bothered to leave feedback, that's his prerogative. I want the feedback, since I've traded very little on eBid and it's high time the figure was improved, but I'm not prepared to start pestering for it. I'll certainly think twice before buying from this seller again, though.
I'm also uncertain that I like this idea of being able to change feedback at any time. Doesn't this almost defeat the object of feedback? If, as on eBay, your feedback, once left, cannot be altered, you are likely to leave the right feedback comments. Whereas, if you can go back and change it, you might leave an ill-judged comment for someone to read, even if it is altered later, which could affect someone's decision to trade or not with that person.
The debate about whether the seller should leave feedback before the buyer has entertained many on eBay's Q & A board for quite some time. There are vociferous advocates of the "buyer has to leave feedback first" lobby, claiming that the transaction isn't ended until the buyer has expressed satisfaction with the goods. Personally, I leave feedback for my buyers when I've posted their items. I believe that, at that point, the buyer's side of the transaction is complete and I should indicate this with feedback. I suspect that many of the "buyer first" supporters are trying to ensure the buyer won't leave anything but positive feedback if the seller still has his/her feedback to leave. Still, each to his/her own.
All of which means that I won't be altering my feedback to the seller I mentioned. He fulfilled his side of the transaction splendidly, I'm very pleased with my purchase and his service, so the feedback stays. I'd just like some to reflect what I hope was a satisfactory buyer role from me. :(

As a seller, i leave feedback as soon as i receive payment, as a buyer, i leave feedback when i receive goods.
If i don't get feedback my life still goes on, i do tend not to buy again from a seller that doesn't leave it though.
That logic makes good sense,I practice similarly......:)

I think most people just forget to be honest so i cant see a problem using the feedback request. I cant see how anyone just would not want to leave any feedback because if they are happy then generally they want to say so and if they are not then they definitely want to say so. I think they jsut forget, its much easier to forget on ebid than feebay.

I do the same...
II don't sell a lot on Ebay, joined in 2001 and only have a feedback score of 628...and a lot of that is me buying. But in just under 1000 transactions I have never had to leave or received negative feedback.
I suppose if I was selling more then there would be more chance of me getting negged.

I think it's just luck of the draw on who the buyer/seller is, i always try to be an honest seller/buyer always pay promptly and post quickly but some people will neg you for nothing when you have done everything to make it a good transaction.
When buying i will always look at the seller's feedback and see how they respond to negs, it does'nt put me off buying unless they have alot of negs for the same thing!

I also joined ebay in 2001, but hardly ever go there now, i have 100% over there on buying & selling (530) but there seem to be far more negs going on now than when i started, i have 2 negs here, neither were through anything i knowingly did wrong, i suppose with the handbag one, i should have known it was a fake, but it was real leather, really well made & had the correct logo, so only the price should have told me it wasn't genuine, i bought it from here & when it arrived, it was too small for what i wanted, so i relisted it on the same day it arrived & for the price i paid for it, i got negged & suspended. We live & learn.

I had one guy leave me a neutral. He'd won an auction of mine for two PC games. I'd even sent them before he'd paid as an act of good faith. He then took two weeks to send me a cheque - it bounced. I tried to contact him via email on 7 occasions and didn't get an answer, so I got his phone number and asked him what was going on. He wibbled about losing his cheque book, cancelling it, finding it and using it, and would send another cheque from another cheque book. Then he gave me a neutral. I asked him why and he said it was for phoning him! I couldn't believe it! Luckily neutrals drop off the radar after 12 months, but it was the one and only blemish on my feedback and pi$$ed me off.
