My grandson just phoned with instructions for tonight, he wants a Dr Who party. PMSL
I've been told to order a tropicanna pizza and a garlic bread supreme, and to make some sandwiches, and make some pop and out it in the fridge so it's cold. He said he's bought some popcorn and sweets and he's got a Dr Who cake from Sainsburrys. lol
So thats gonna be me and him sat on the floor infront of the telly and surrounded by food when the new Dr Who starts tonight. lol
Works for me. PMSL

He does just fine. He has Perthes Disease and Hyper mobility summat or other, so my daughter is carefull to make sure his diet is a good one.
No need to worry yourself.

Im sure you do everything yo can to ensure he gets the best but your list of treats sounded like every parents nightmare to me. No doubt you set a great exmaple, enjoy your day,
If he was eating like that on a regular basis then I would agree, but a few treats now and then will not do him any harm. Also he's a very active lad, swims twice a week, judo once a week, scouts once a week, horse riding every other week, 3 mile bike ride on a regular basis, he goes on a lot of long walks with me too. He takes after me for wanting to be outside all the time, so he's definitely not short of exercise. It's easy to keep him active because he love's doing outdoor things, a proper little actionman. lol

Ayup lass,
Yeah we had a laugh, he's been talking about it this morning too. lol
Had a laugh with him this morning, he wanted to do some gardening because it's lovely and sunny here. So we messed about in the garden for a couple of hours doing bits and bats. When we had done I filled the bird feeder's with nuts and he sat at the window watching the birds giving me a running commentary on what kind of birds were eating the nuts and which were eating the bread. lol. We have field mice, squirrels, hedgehogs, and a fox that come into the garden too, he's always watching for them but doesn't get to see them very often. We have a woodpecker and a jay visit the garden quite regular too, they're lovely colourfull birds. I'm going to try to get a photo of them one day.
Hope you're having a good easter lass.

use the net to research the link bewteen the e numbers found in many "treats" and 'Hyper mobility summat' and you may find your statement sadly inaccurate.
I dont mean to rain on your parade, sincerly i dont but indeed there may well be a link between diet and hyperactivity.
anyway, i'll leave it at that, Im not at work and you didnt ask me so i'll shut up
My daughter got a bag full of stuff to read from the doctor at the hospital, she's well up on all the do's and don'ts. A treat now and then is fine just as long as he's eating properly for the majority of the time and he's kept active.
Cheer's for the thought anyway.

I hope you both enjoyed the Dr. Who night Frank! My two grandsons are huge fans too, and were eagerly looking forward to the show. When I spoke to my daughter yesterday, she told me the youngest, aged 7, took one look at the 'diseased folk' and thought they were zombies! He ran upstairs and wouldn't watch any more! I wonder if he will even bother with next weeks episode then, about a werewolf! :)

How did the Dr Who night?
LOL, it was a good night. I can't wait for him to see the Cybermen and K9 (I read somewhere that they're both in this series) because he will love them. lol
My mate called in just as Dr Who finished and ended up sat on the floor with TJ eating garlic bread and listening to TJ telling him what had happened on Dr Who. lol
I'm known as "the weird one" amongst my mates because I'm not into all the stuff that blokes are supposed to be into, when TJ had finished talking to my mate my mate looked at me and said, "Thats all we bloody need, another weird one !". pmsl. So now he refers to my grandson as The weird one jr.

Yeah it was a fun night lass. :)
When the new Dr Who first started I was a little worried that it might scare TJ and give him nightmares or something. But then I saw the Dr Who follow-up show on BBC3 which showed you how they made each episode and how the special effects were done so sat TJ on my knee to watch that. The show usually starts on BBC3 as soon as Dr Who finishes on BBC1. Now my grandson is fine if he see's anything to do with monster's or anything like that because he know's it's not real and is only a special effect. He can now spot CG characters a mile off, it doesn't spoil the show for him but it does stop him being scared by the characters.
He is always asking me how things work or how things were made, he's a nosey little bleeder. lol

Aw, not nosey Frank! Its good he likes to know how things are done! Thats a good idea you suggest, I'll have to tell the daughter to let Luke watch the follow-up on BBC3. He's quite a nervous little fella, doesn't take much to scare him!

The follow up show is very good, lods of information in it as well as the special effects stuff.
I had to laugh at TJ when we watched the Daleks follow up show. He was a bit miffed when he saw how they worked and was a lot miffed to see a bloke stood off camera doing the Daleks voice and waving his arm in time with his speech so someone could flick a switch intime with his voice to make the light ontop of the Dalek flicker in sinc. TJ looked up at me me with a frown on his face and said, "Grandad, thats cheating innit ". lol, he wasn't amused at that.
Watching the follow-up shows have been good for him though, he now completely understands that you can't believe what you see on tv and it's all just pretend and not real. Even when he's watching other tv shows or films he'll turn to me when watching certain scenes and say, "thats done with a computer innit grandad". Like I said before, it deosn't stop him enjoying it though.

Done - I'll bid!
My kids are nearly 21 and 16 - so a bit young yet methinks, but one day ...
My daughter leaves school in June and wants to take up childcare.
A few weeks back she had one of those electronic babies that she had to care for all weekend. She brought it home on the Friday all excited and on Saturday morning I got up and she came downstairs shortly afterwards and scowled at me. I asked her what was wrong and her answer.... "that f****ng baby kept me up all night!!!
LOL - I told her "that's what babies do".
