"Posh London department store Selfridges is to begin charging punters £65 for a 40-minute one-on-one iPod tutorial later this month - almost as much as it costs to buy the cheapest iPod. ..."

Christ.
It's all about "perceived value" though, innit? People can sw@nk about how they had lessons in Selfridges...
(edit - great, the software edits out sw@nk (sw@nk)!)

You can bet that if people went into Slefridges and did what the software filtered the word for, they'd get barred. ;)

I find it bizzarre that you can get a brand new TV now for about a third of the cost of the TV licence...

Well, if they're stupid enough to pay extortionate amounts of money for an ipod, they deserve to ripped off even more.
Well, the saying goes, 'a fool and his money are soon parted'.

And then wait for the day where you will have to prove that you don't own a TV receiver so that they don't automatically charge you for one. :(

I'm suprised they haven't started doing it already. I wish they would just charge for BBC's so I don't have to pay the damn thing (I can't remember the last time I watched BBC anything)

The license is for receiving any Tv signal although the funds do go to the BBC.
