Which pppay service are you using? Escrow or instant payment?

It should only ever be possible for money to be taken from your visa/etc. if you authorize it, i.e. give them permission..
The 'person' taking the money with online payments isn't the seller themself, it's the company you're sending payment through, pppay take the money and pass it on to the seller, effectively, so no, the seller can't take any money off your card at all..
