EBID ADMIN AVATARS - a little "non-friendly"? (DESIGN COMPETITION!!!)

I was just reading a post on another thread from Gazza, and the current avvie that eBid Admin use is quite non-descript, not strong enough for Admin (IMO), too *dark*, and fairly "non-friendly"...

Soooo, in the interests of all members on the forums....

Design an avatar for eBid Admin!

The ONLY RULE:
*** it MUST have the current eBid logo (re: eBid)

(optional (and helpful) rule: please don't design something that will stretch the forum page!)


Please submit all designs to this thread. No limit on the number of designs per eBid member. No limit to creativity. The best design will be determined by a forum poll lasting 7 days.

The winner of the forum poll will win:

* Chocolate of choice (up to £1-ish in value)
* Slice of Lavender Essential Oil Soap
* 10ml Fragrance Oil (choice of *flavours*)
* Joss Sticks
* 3 cute mini flower candles
* Soapstone carved cat
* Funky sticker
* Saucy Willy Ice Cube Tray
* anything else I think of after I post this!


The winner of the forum competition does NOT guarantee that Admin will use the avatar, but ALL submissions will be seen by eBid (on this thread LOL!), so you never know...eBid may decide that yours is better than their current avatar, even if your design isn't the forum winner!

So all you designers, pro or amateur or for fun...what have you got to lose?!

You have until 1st September before the forum poll...get your arty caps on ;) I KNOW you guys can do this :D

Just to clarify: are these intended for use as forum post avatars?

If so, then surely they need to conform to the avatars rules:

The maximum size of your custom image is 150 by 150 pixels or 9.8 KB (whichever is smaller).

I thought of that, and it was in the rules, but then I thought that this was just a *general* design comp, with no guarantees that admin would use the end design...so rather than restrict and limit people, I thought I'd give them a bit a leeway :D

when i uploaded the aye aye pic, it was as big as was allowed at that time, which was tiny

what size are the pics you are trying to upload?

it maybe that the file size is too big, esp if its a gif

there are ways to decrease a gifs file size, but the quality will be reduced too

Don't really know the sizes, but they are nearly all gifsso that must be the problem. Don't understand why my previous avie wont work. As I said, I ried reducing them but they looked like carp. :(
