Hi Amethyst,

I hope you have more luck than I have at selling your card. I have only sold one so far. Do you sell anywhere else? I have had a lot more luck on the other site and infact have sold two Father's Days Cards last week, and quite a few when it was Mother's Day.

You live in my neck of the woods so I wish you good luck. Card making has really taken off. But like every other craft, it may well be short lived. A few years ago knitting was all the rage, shops were opening up all over the place and just as fast they closed down.

So stick with it, once every one else gives up on Card making or whatever craft we are all into then hopefully things will pick up. Good Luck

Yes, I still make cross stitch cards though everyone else has stopped. I don't do so many as I did but have sold a couple of pet picture ones on here.

I have noticed both here and especially on the other site anything to do with animals is a big hit. I know any cards I have made with animals sell easily. Cross stitch cards are great, different and can be framed as a keep sake. Unfortunately as a result of a car accident over a year ago I cannot do much owing to an injury to my thumb. It was broken in the accident though not picked up on x-ray and it left me with damaged ligaments. I have to have an operation on the 12th July to correct the damage, 14 months after the accident. So once everything has healed I hope to make a lot more cross stitch cards.
The cards I always have no problem selling are those for an anniversary, 25th, 50th, 60th etc. I have had a commission to make a special card for an 80 year old Grandpa, and that was fun to make.
I do like the card you have on here, are you planning to make any more? We need a good variety to attract buyers. So hopefully as the site grows we both might do well on the card making, here's hoping.

Yes, I am planning to list more. In fact, I shall list a monogram one today (now I will have to do it!). I work the pet ones to order as there are hundreds of breeds/colourways and I seldom work the same one twice.

I, too, find that animal collectables sell well in the other place. Sometimes they make far more than their retail price, especially if they are one of the less standard breeds. I sold a pretty diamante brooch in the shape of a Bassett for over £10. It can't have been worth more than about £5 but if you want such an item you cannot just walk into a shop and buy one. It has to be grabbed when you find it.

Good luck with the op, btw!

I sell cards of handmade paper with pictures made from dried flower petals and leaves.

Got a lot of new cards coming through for Christmas - will be listing them sometime in late august/early september.

I also sell the handmade paper in big sheets - 60cm x 70cm with or without embedded petals and leaves, in a wide range of designs and several weights of paper.

And of course a heap of other stuff made from the handmade paper.

Hi Gaz

yes they are, sadly not able to make me own, bought off a seller (from t'other side) not seen them before or since tho, but must be able to buy the die from somewhere

cute tho eh?

Absolutely

Madelaine said a while back she had a sizzix cutter and a load of dies (at least I think that's what she said) - wonder if she's got the dies for those - they're really cute

What thickness of card are they done with? I suspect thick paper just wouldn't look as good as those do.

Oooooo I have no idea of the thickness/grade of card they are :o
they just feel like 'normal' card to me lol (soz, not much help am i?)
I reckon they would look lovely with mulberry paper too to give them a bit of texture

I would love to buy a cutter and some dies, must be great to make everything for your handmade cards yourself,
and as a bonus, feebay sellers seem to make regular sales from sizzix, especially floral/xmas/birthday related ones.

Let me know when you get it - we can do some swopsies - Saa mulberry sheets for finished cut outs ??

Could even do a cooperative project on handmade cards and tags?

Brilliant idea Gaz :)

need to get the equipment but i'll definately let you know

re cards n tags... i've bookmarked another site which will give me ideas for better designs.
I'm slowly but surely getting more stock, so will do more complex designs too, altho i still like the simplicity of the cards i've done already.

Did some checking yesterday on both Sizzix and QuicKutz

- Sizzix designs are very "play school" but QuicKutz have some really nice ones including the animal designs on those gift tags

- The QuicKutz "tool" is much cheaper than Sizzix and they have a wider range of dies. Also did auction site searches and the "tool" is much cheaper on those as well (and lighter, so cheaper to post = bonus).

;)

No, I don't have a sizzix cutter - I buy the cut outs from time to time - they are often listed on here by various sellers. If what you want isn't listed, I would ask seller a question. Everyone I know with a cutter/access to one, is either a seller of cut-outs or shares dies with friends. They are a terrific price!

so they are quickutz then? thanks Gaz, never knew that, bought them as sizzix, no i'll know what to look for won't I?
Will price up Quickutz machine & dies, see what range they have available.
I've heard of accucut (sp?) too, unless its another name for sizzix or quickutz.

Madelaine, I've just bought some sizzix cut-outs off sulizcards(at)ebid, lovely seller, friendly, very good prices too, she has other dies apparently, and is just starting to list her stuff on here, she has been on selling on 'the other side' too
I'll be looking for xmas cut-outs soon so have let her know.
Would still like to do them myself tho

Hi there!

with the exception of the bathing accessories all of my products are handcrafted- I make them as and when they are ordered, or I make a loaf and cut it when an order is placed!!

Thanks for looking!
