Hi
As I'm new to ebid i need some advice. What do you do if you suspect someone of shill bidding? I won an auction yesterday on happy hour and after wards thought it a bit suspect .
After doing a bit of checking i think this person has got 2 user ids(or more) and bidding on own auction to bump the price up. However to double check i went back to the closed auction but was not showing the bidding history. Is there a way to check on bidding history on closed auctions i notice that some do have, and will i be able to retract my bid.
If anybody can enlighten me i would be very grateful. :?

Just noticed your post. I see the same things going on with at least one "big" seller. See my post in this forum. Sorry by the way, if I had noticed your post I would not have raised a separate topic. I see one of the administrators has contacted you. I hope they take action.

Here are three other auction IDs where similar activity has take place.
the pattern is fairly obvious you can work out the "effective" reserve price

Not sure what point you are making betterbhp, but I think the point being made by mickcrich is that the winners of the 3 auctions he pointed out, are all "sole buyers" of one seller here on Ebid.
That is to say they never seemingly buy or bid on any other auction, but pop in with a proxy bid, (like a sort of invisible reserve ?), towards the end of one sellers auctions only, if the bidding is low.
/rovtu/ has done it 5 times
/fghty11/ has done it 3 times
/hderf20/ has done it 7 times
Do you not see what mickcrich is getting at - all these buyers seem to do is pop into one sellers auction towards the end, with a proxy bid, when bidding is low, which is similar to an invisible reserve ?
Between them, these 3 buyers have "bought" 15 items, from the one seller, always using the same tactics, and never bid or bought anything from anyone else.
Maybe it is legit, but it is very odd as I found 4 more similar buyers, (on a seperate thread before I saw this one), who between them "bought" 30 items, again always with the same tactics, from the same seller, and again have never bid or bought anything from anyone else.
Maybe it is just that a lot of professional snipers only use this sellers auctions - is that what you are getting at ?
As already said, admin are looking into it, and a plausable and honest explanation would be very interesting, and a great relief.
