If reincarnation is true, is that really a good thing?
Thinking of all the people suffering in the world, would you want to come back?

No definitely not. There's been times in recent years that I've not been too keen on letting this one run it's natural course so I'd hate to think I'd have to go through it all again.

What if in the next one, you could pick the type of life you would have?
What about all those people who claim to be been regressed to a previous life?
Just good imagination? Or is there something in it?

I still don't think that I'd want to come back because although I could pick my own quality of life the world would still be filled with suffering all around me and I'm sick of seeing/hearing about others suffering. I don't see how anyone can be really at peace while the world is in the state it is in.
I don't believe in regression, if there is anything to it then it's either something people have picked up in their subconscious at some point in their life or it is an inherited memory.

I believe that I chose this life in order to learn some lessons...what I do with my life after the start I had would result in lessons I will need to learn next time round.

Inherited memory
Ah yes, that is something else to think about.
It has always fasinated me, how much we have inherited.
And why or if it would be of any use to us.

OK ~ let's throw another spanner in the works.
What if you could come back BUT could pick your period.
Either in the future or the past?
Would that change your mind?

I find the concept of inherited memory very difficult to accept, whereas reincarnation is the only explanation for our existence in this world that makes any sense to me at all.

Yes, the future, but only if there is a point in the future where the human race has got it's act together and we are looking after the planet and each other, otherwise no.
If I could swap this life for another, rather than live two lives, I'd probably pick te life of a cowboy back in the old wild west. I know that goes against what I've previously said about suffering and stuff but I love the thought of the freedom of being able to saddle up and go where I want, I also like the idea of being able to dish out my own justice rather than watch the bad guys walk away free like they currently seem to do.

You've got that back to front, inherited memory is a proven fact in many fish and birds, whereas reincarnation has never been proven. Therefore inherited memory is the far more likeliest of the two. :)

Fish and birds perhaps, but not humans. I think the term "inherited memory" in animals refers to genetically programmed physical characteristics and traits, whereas in humans it is usually used to describe mental and personality attributes, as relevant in recalling "past lives".

I read a case of a lad in India, who told his family about his previous family.
Every detail he gave was checkout and found to be correct.
I think he was about 5 years old and his previous family were all still alive.
Trying to remember where I read it.
Too late for me :(~ bed time soon

No that is incorrect, some fish and birds inherit the memory of routes for migration and so on.

Yes that's right, the same meaning as for the fish and birds.
I did have an interesting website bookmarked which explained some of the research that has been done into inherited memory but I can't seem to find it just now, I'll have another look for it tomorrow because I'm off to bed soon.

The "memories" (not really the right word) you're referring to in animals is a genetic physical property found in humans, for example, in a baby's ability to grasp objects with it's fingers without being shown. It has nothing to do with the mind as such.
The phenomenon of past life recall is a purely intellectual, mental faculty, with no known correlation to the animal world.
