OK, so here’s the story. I have an A3 HP Mono Laser Printer that I haven’t used for 18 months or so. It DOES have a fault, which I have been quoted around £50 to fix (the printer cost £873)!
The fault: it started coming out with a black stripe on the top edge which led eventually to the top edge being mangled in the printer. As time went by a small piece of plastic about an inch long came out the other end (think this may have come from the toner cartridge), it looks like there’s still one more piece in there. I haven’t got it fixed ’cos as I said I don’t use it anymore.
I have tried to find someone who could repair it and sell it on for themselves, have tried the Lions Club to see if they know of any organisations that ship unwanted computer bits to underdeveloped/poor countries, charity shops won’t touch it ’cos of this PAT testing thingy… it seems my ONLY choice is to dump it. This seems such a waste as the only thing I can see that’s wrong with it is a piece of stupid plastic stuck in the mechanism.
So what I’m saying is, if there is anyone who wants it you can have it. Yes, I don’t want ANYTHING for it… after all it WILL NEED a repair. I just don’t want to have to dump it.
If you want it, please let me know. Due to the weight it will need to be picked up, I’m in Norfolk. So if anyone is interested please either post here or PM me.
Blessings
Sharon
