Stupid Question but WHY is listing Limited to certain times? Surely I agree with a cut of time but only one weekend? Seems a bit silly to me as Lots of people DON'T Look at the computer at weekends only.

If you agree with a cut off date then surely there should be a start date,

IMO just as many look at their computer at weekends (if not more), as they do during the week, if they are not around the weekend they can schedule there listings to start, then during the week they can bid:D

You been on here long enough Red to know what is going on :p

Oh I know - and I was being ever soooo cruel. You were both right.

I have got a couple of squares in mind that I'm hoping to do some time this week - and I've taken some cuttings from my money plant - only because I've had to trim it back - its taken over. If they're roots are developed enough I'll be able to list them this month - if not then next month. I'm also hoping to do some tomato chutney in July or August so you never know what will be appearing that YDC

I wish - I'd like to think that every christmas instead of flowers it buds £20 notes. :D Sadly, I get neither.

Its a house plant that is a sort of succulent with coin shape leaves. This isn't mine but its something like this

http://www.plantlife.ie/shop/images/money%20plant%20popup.jpg

Cuttings are taken very easily by placing any broken branches in a glass / jam jar of water. The same as busy lizzies.

I'm one of these sort of lazy gardeners - I like plants and flowers, but don't like messing around planting the same ones year in year out. I like things that are pretty hardy and will sort of look after themselves. I'm the same with my house plants.

Because its a succulent - a relative of the cactus - it can (and mine do have to) go for a long time without water. When its dry and thirsty, its leaves tend to look dull and limp - when its watered regularly its leaves are thick, and shiney. I normally give mine a dose of water every week or so, but they have gone for over a month without watering - and thats when they sit on the kitchen window sill, just above the tap. God knows how often they'd be watered if they were moved to another part of the house.

I've got a sort of aloe vera plant too thats a succulent with a rosette type cluster of leaves, and about now spurts out orange trumpet shape flowers at the end of a long stalk.

Thats also very sympathetic to lazy house plant carers :D When I can, I'll take a few offshoots and root them cos it needs dividing and do them for the YDC aswell - if anyone is interested, although it won't be this month as it is in flower.

I've only got unkillable house plants left - all the others have died from neglect

I'll make a point of keeping some aside for listing when I divide it up.

Its the same with the tubs - its the very tough and hardy ones that have survived although that one isn't entirely my fault. I had terrible 'ladies problems' a few years ago, which stopped me doing any lifting - couldn't even carry shopping without severe consequences - and it wasn't to the back. The end result in that was a hysterectomy, which meant that for good while I still couldn't do any lifting. Of course in the inbetween time, weeds took root in the tubs and have now taken over - I should have attacked them all last year, but we didn't have the weather so it didn't get done - this year they're even worse. Its not too much of an ordeal - well not the way I'm being brutal with each tub & plant. The surviving plants are being split - not by design but by me trying to peel the plant roots away from the weed roots. In 1 tub I had 1 fushia that survived - I now have 6 plus 4 cuttings.

Its all still a work in progress, but at least the garden looks more welcoming - providing we ignore next doors brambles creeping over the wall.

You might take a picture while it is flowering, that should intice more to bid on cuttings.

:D:D:D Brilliant Private Croc hope he finds a new gnome-home ! You have made an error in the title it needs to be 'YDC' - stands for 'Your Donation Counts' these days. You need to change the 'A' otherwise it won't be picked up in the search. Also you need to put in which charity your money will be going to either one you pick or the nominated charity of the month.
