Hi folks,

sorry i haven't been around for a while - I've been very busy with a couple of things - I my novel, I am working harder than ever on it at the moment, and am trying to get it taken on board by a publishing house - All's lookling quite good :)

I've also started to revitalise my photography again - I want to get back into it as a hobby, rather than just snapshots of stuff I'm selling.

--------------------------------

Anyway - That's not what I'm here to write about. I am going to purchase a bundle of books of short stories by Steve Morris called In All Probability. I'm reading it at the moment, and it is excellent, so I want to help him promote it, and as he had never heard of Ebid, I suggested I put somein my bookstore.

I also said that I would like them to be signed by him, which would give it an edge for selling.

So - My question is this. If you were buying a signed book, would you prefer to buy a copy I have in my hand for immediate despatch, with a signature but no personal message.

Or, would you be happier to place a pre-order and have the book signed to you personally, knowing that this would delay delivery by something like 7-14 days?

For me personally, if it was a book I wanted to buy and I knew the author personally, then a personal signature is what I would want (and have had) as those books will never be sold on - they'll be given to appropriate museums at the end of my day.

If I don't know the author personally, then I wouldn't be interested in having the book signed.

I hope that helps.

I would take a signed, no personal message version, if it was a book I wanted. I'm not bothered about personal messages from people I don't know, but would have an eye to the future value.
