I've got sewing that I'm in the middle of right now, but I'll be sorting a few recipes and sending them accross to you this evening.

There will be more, but they need to be weighted and measured before I put pen to paper.

Easy way to camouflage the taste of burnt toast.
Add an oxo cube to the beans,
or mustard, garlic salt, maybe even herbs or spices.
Make it really thick and goo'y, add some cheese.

Baked beans are so versatile.

Just sent a few to you as promised - although - a little later than I intended. Sorry. I seem to be inundated with different things at the moment - stuff that needs doing, stuff I want to do, and stuff that I've promised to do - its a juggling act to get things done.

Next time I'm doing some of the others I want to send you, I'll take notes as I'm making them, so I can send them to add.

If there's any problems with the email recipes, please don't hesitate to let me know. Thanks

HI all

Just wanted to bump the Thread, I know Smiffy’s got alot going on, so I’m sure she won’t mind a helping hand……

I’ve put approx. 37 recipes into the book so far…we’re up to about page 32 including section headings and the cover…so anyone got any more recipes???

We’ve only got 1 cereal, 1 salad and 1 drink recipe I think, sweets are filling up nicely, main meals growing by the day.

If necessary we may have to resort to my 101 variations of toast!!!!!!!!!!! Believe me, you really don‘t want that…………ask my hubby!!!!!!!!!!!

I've not necessarily got a lull, but a bit more free time tomorrow, so I'll sort out a few more receipes for you. Are there any that you think we specifically need, or are short of?? Are there any you don't particularly need. I'd hate to duplicate something thats already been sent in.

Does it have to be tried and tested by me? I have one that I have been meaning to make and not done so, but ate the finished result on holiday one year and it was yummy. Then hunted for the recipe, found it and not made it - yet:o

Why should I be the only one confused?? If you are confused it means I am in good company :D:D

pearlygirl555
24th April 2009, 12:09 PM
Hi Kimbo!
The quilt block is just another one for the Xmas YDC quilt, the winning bidder would have their name on the bottom of it like the others that have been made and won by various people these past few months. The blocks I've done so far have had "ebid community stuff" as kind of a loose theme, did an Australian Bushfire Relief one, last month was a Kitchen Table one....so, this is just one along those lines. :)

Hi Sharon!
Didn't get any recipies sent last night, we're loading up for a huge show in Kansas City. In fact, Mark is screeching at me now to get off the computer. I'll take the recipies with me to KC, we have internet access in the hotel room so I'm hoping to send them to you from there.

The scans are good enough to be able to read, so I can retype them, no worries!

By the way Babs, there is a reference to sauces on pages 203 and 205, do you want to include those or just exclude that bit in brackets and let them use their own, if they have one?

Peel and boil potatoes until soft, using unsalted water.
Drain, then "rinse" in well-salted boiling water.
Leave to cool.
Chop to bite-sized pieces.
Combine with good mayonnaise and finely chopped pickled gherkin.

All quantities to personal taste!
